    New VA Fare Structure

I find it incredible that there's no good news here for status pax at all - just benefits removed and an overly complex fare structure after we only just simplified the whole thing not long ago (with the overall change being HLO is available MEL-NAN but not MEL-SYD. How does this make any...

How many of those 'Coco' chocolates have you 'sampled'?

I only take one... every time I'm in the lounge! :-)

No more animated inflight safety video?

Haha I don't think it's that bad using crew - if it's a live demo the crew demonstrate everything rather than getting a passenger to put on a lifejacket or wear a mask etc. Putting on my director's hat, she should've stopped walking at the end before she told us to enjoy our flight and her...

Seat Selection on EY leg of SYD<->FRA on VA codes

Don't stress. I think family holidays work best when everybody gets some time to themselves :)

Eithad, Singapore or Virgin to London?

First of all I'd rule out all EY flights due to their 10-across 77W and the 17' seats. 17' shoulders are an XS shirt size so unless you're certain that you and the pax sitting on either side of you are XS at the most, you'll be overlapping all the way MEL-AUH-MEL. Sure the EY lounges are...

Flight times between New York and London slashed by jet stream's power

Re: Supersonic B777 - Almost The flight was probably using the North Atlantic Organised Track System North Atlantic Tracks - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia so there'd be no great need for a change to route - the tracks are published daily and optimised for winds.

Surely they're not the first to use Christmas as an opportunity to wrap up and gift some stuff they don't want :)

United Airlines stranded at immigrationless Canberra

What would clearing customs in CBR and/or sticking the passengers on buses to SYD actually achieve? To me it seems to be a lot of effort and expense for no material gain (either way everybody ends up in SYD eventually). 300 or so people would need around 10 buses and given that QF and VA are...

Triple Velocity points with Virgin Australia

The T&Cs say: Bonus Points earned are in addition to any Points ordinarily earned and will be applied to base Points only. Any applicable tier bonus earned will not attract bonus Points as a result of this offer. So it should end up as 20 points per dollar or 5c per point.

Triple Velocity points with Virgin Australia

WP should get a 100% bonus on the base amount, so (5 per dollar base points) + (5 per dollar WP bonus) + (5x2=10 per dollar special bonus) = 20 per dollar

    15% bonus transfer NOV 14

Switch maybe? It's not too hard to find a better Velocity earning option than CBA - even some free credit cards earn more than some CBA Rewards cards!

Moving to the UK - Should I keep VA or switch to KrisFlyer?

FWIW my work future is looking quite sketchy at the moment and I've been looking to preserve my points. I'm currently VA WP and I've signed up for SQ, DL and QF as these programs seem to be quite friendly to a points squirrel (welll SQ isn't but hopefully the VA transfer is easy) and I've now...

Earning points & SC's on VA flights operated by SQ

Or call SQ with your ticket number - it's a bit of faffing around as opposed to booking directly through SQ but as WP I value the extra points and eligible sectors.

    Virgin Platinum Pointless?

September looks like a good month for Velocity credit cards! NAB's offering 40 000 bonus points for an Amex (1.5 points/$) and Visa (0.5 points/$) combo Virgin Money has 20 000 bonus points for a Visa that earns 1 point/$ (but back to 0.5 points/$ after $1 500 each month) And Amex...

How do I fly to Madrid using a VA partner?

Either way you only earn if you fly on a partner airline's metal.
