APEC Business Travel Card - Express Immigration Clearance

Good luck! Keep an eye out for any vaguely official lane and you may be OK, but as you portend, I don't like your chances. Same may also apply coming into SIN as it sounds like you are on Air Asia and will probably "hit" the budget terminal in SIN as well. Be interested to see your post on...

Best place for SQ points? *A status?

Make sure the SQ booking (can be done at check in) has both UA and SQ numbers in - you won't get PPS for an upgrade to business, only paid business or first. Many of the SQ agents have trouble with getting both FF numbers in correctly in my experience. Also, UA often won't post because it...

Best place for SQ points? *A status?

If you sign up for Krisflyer and UA MP then you can get the PPS sectors credited to SQ and the miles to UA. This gives the best of both worlds, especially if you have a UA account. Othrwise just accrue everything with SQ.

APEC Business Travel Card - Express Immigration Clearance

Whereabouts is the diplomatic channel in the new BKK airport?

APEC Business Travel Card - Express Immigration Clearance

There weren't any on day two of airport operations (as posted earlier) and I've not seen any posts to suggest it's changed yet. I'll be there again in 2 weeks, and I'll be looking out for them then.

    Worst & Best Airlines

Recently for me CX the best, AC (SYD-YVR) the worst. SQ remain consistently good, but CX are definitely in the lead IMHO at this stage.

    BKK Suvarnabhumi Airport Update

Once outside and on the way into town you will see how incomplete the skytrain to the airport is.

APEC Business Travel Card - Express Immigration Clearance

Immi told me that part of the country agreements was an agreed processing time (6 weeks if I recall correctly - but I can't swear to it). Some are better at meeting that than others, obviously. You must also remember that all countries are processing applications form all participating...

Across the Globe in 5 Continents Again

I am close to QF life gold - about 1100 SCs, so if you're desperate for a run companion, I'm up for being a willing student.

Call for frequent flyers to skip airport checks

Sure. It sometimes helps to see what flights are departing and where from and take the chance that the other immigration may be less crowded, and walk back to the other pier after xray, or even as you approach immigration and see it's full, high-tail it back out and try the other side. There is...

Call for frequent flyers to skip airport checks

Piers C and B are both within the Int Terminal, and the connection is after immigration. That doesn't help get from Dom to Int and through the mess.

    BKK Suvarnabhumi Airport Update

The reasons may have changed, but in NZ I understand that as the cities own the airports, they each collect their departure taxes and the govt. couldn't get them to agree on a common system. QF told me years ago that they use the credit card as it makes reconciliation, etc so much simpler. I...

    BKK Suvarnabhumi Airport Update

I'm pretty sure it's only payable in cash. I'm not aware of any airport facility that takes anything but cash (NZ BNZ may be different) for departure taxes.

Across the Globe in 5 Continents Again

Subject to client whims - should be passing thru SIN 13/14 Nov, 17 Nov (transit to BKK), 25 Nov (transit to SYD). Dec possibly 9 and 16 (depends whether I am SQ or CX on way to MNL). Jan 20 and 27/28 also likely at this stage.

    KLIA Lounge

AFAIK some lounges, like SQ do have their own toilets, but others like CX do not. The shower facilities in the MH lounge are good, but the catch is to be flying MH.

    BKK Suvarnabhumi Airport Update

I don't think lounge access is an issue if you are entitled, and hopefully you can pull the article from the magazine on the flight to BKK to wave at the entry desk on your way out if the "couple of weeks" is before the end of this month. From my recent, limited, experience, none of the...
