APEC Business Travel Card - Express Immigration Clearance

AFAIK if you are just visting on business (yes I know it's work) but not going there to be employed, you are OK with passport and APEC card. I am working in China a lot but not employed there, never an issue.

APEC Business Travel Card - Express Immigration Clearance

I have been in and out of Shenzhen this week using the Houngang border crossing (by car) and there were no dramas with the APEC card. Consistent with My Lo Wu experince a few weeks ago.

APEC Business Travel Card - Express Immigration Clearance

The card is not a visa, but you don't need a visa to enter SIN. The card allows you you to be there on business, but not for employment, so attending regional meetings, etc, even though you are working, isn't the same as being employed in SIN. IMHO you are quite OK to just fly in with your card.

They must be "catching up". My son received his "full" card last week, hadn't requested an update.

APEC Business Travel Card - Express Immigration Clearance

Not all economies have set up the APEC facility at all borders. It is mostly only at designated large entry points (as per business mobility site list). They may be willing to help, but no guarantees. Having said that I had a dream run from Shenzhen back to HKG this afternoon, by car through...

APEC Business Travel Card - Express Immigration Clearance

I haven't heard one way or the other, and plan to aviod going to China around that time (but will be there next month, so will see then). Given the clearances that take place to be approved for entry, i doubt APEC card holders will be affected.

APEC Business Travel Card - Express Immigration Clearance

Depending on the time gap, they will transfer the card across to a new passport for free. My son renewed his passport within a couple of months of the card being issued, and even though we filled out everything expecting to pay, requalify, etc, Immi swapped it across painlessly and quickly...

    SYD Express immigration

You show immigration both the ecard and the inbound arrivals card that you must complete. They will hand both back to you to take to customs/quarantine. Look for the e lane as you go to exit (typically at the far right [sorry, originally posted left, but meant right!]).

    SYD Express immigration

Last night, flying back from SIN on SQ 231 from T3, they did not require me to remove the liquids from my bag, only laptop and mobile phone. I had also bought soe makeup (yeah yeah) for my daughter and they put it in a clear plastic bag, and when I said I'd have to integrate it into my existing...

    SYD Express immigration

The inbound e has a line for immigration as well as for quarantine. Especially in busy periods it's very worthwhile. If you use the e lane, they will take your card. if it's quiet, use the normal line and save the e card for when they don't give you one.

Anybody get annual fee waived for Centurion Card?

I don't disagree, for me though, the insurance isn't that much worse, and I have had 3 claims over the years, all well and satisfactorily handled by them. I don't use many of their partner hotels, and I am A Royal Ambassador with IC group anyway (the Starwood Platinum was worth a bit to me), I...

Anybody get annual fee waived for Centurion Card?

I have a couple of friends who have stayed on with their Titanium card, but I haven't herad them adequately describe the increased value they receive. I did do some sums, like 20 limo rides to airport (easy number for me to achieve) to cover the difference, but having to use their travel service...

APEC Business Travel Card - Express Immigration Clearance

Just had this email from Immi regarding Mexico. These guys are on the ball! Mexico has already granted clearance to your applciation and a new card was issued to you automatically. Unfortunately this card has not yet been printed due to the large number of clearances that Mexico has granted...

APEC Business Travel Card - Express Immigration Clearance

Their reply to me is along the same lines: "This is currently being discussed with AQIS but unfortunately we have no idea what the outcome will be". Given their poractivity in dealing with card holders, hopefully there will be a positive outcome, unfortunately the same can't be said about...

APEC Business Travel Card - Express Immigration Clearance

The frequency of my travels to China, Indonesia, Taiwan and PNG, for example, means the APEC card cost is more than offset by the visa fee savings.

APEC Business Travel Card - Express Immigration Clearance

I have emailed Immi requesting clearance for Mexico. So far only the automated response. I suspect it may be like previously when new economies are listed and may take some time to clear.

The trick is to be more assertive and just go to the crew lane. It's the immigration officers, not the service staff who have a better idea (not always much of a clue) and they will process you. You still need to do the fingerprint and picture stuff.
