    My flights are generally booked only around 3-4 days out, but that's how they have always been booked due to the nature of my work. I have had instances in the past where I had booked the day before and still got row 3.

    I rang on Saturday and got companion for my brother, spoke to him today and he said his account is now showing platinum status. I spoke to the Australian velocity call centre (131 875) , I didn't know there was a overseas velocity call centre and that just the Virgin call centre was in India.

    All done, got my Brother a platinum membership, they said it would take 7 days to process. Also confirmed that you can only nominate one companion per benefit period. I then asked "so all the SC's i earn for the rest of this benefit period count for nothing?" she agreed.
