    Fairmont Hotels Canada

The Fairmont properties often also have a good Seniors rate, or Virtuoso amenameni. Wont help with the Accor sale discount, but will at least give you something

    1 night hotel for Sydney-Moon

Both Shangri La and Intercontinental give upgrade at time of booking, breakfast etc on the Virtuoso rate. Intercon also does Club access and Shangri La does USD100 equivalent food and beverage credit. Could be a good option. Benefits don't apply to any advance purchase rates, just the 'best...

    Centurion Payments

Are you paying it off via BPay? I know they have a $40k per payment limit, but they don't have a limit on the number of BPay payments per day, as far as I have found.

    Qantas Companion Sale

EY and QR are under $10k and you dont need to have two people traveling together. Yes $11k is good price for a QF, fare, but there is still lower.

Browsing QF flights to SYD for next year, 50% bonus SC offer next day

We are about to enter an interesting new era of price discrimination. Two people with the same flight, same day, same postcode same cost to the airline to deliver. Different price.

Part of cruise cost flight included.

Normally it will be a standard fare that is booked, so all the usual Frequent Flyer benefits come along with it. Is it Business Class or Economy? You would need to watch the booking class in Economy if it is QR or CX and you’re earning to QF.

Airlines blaming each other [QF fails to inform EK of cancelled booking]

Absolutely. If that was any other agent and they failed to cancel the seat prior to the flight departure, QF would charge a no show fee on the refund. The no show fee is to penalise the passenger/agent for not cancelling the seat that could have otherwise been sold. So I hope QF charged itself...

    Current QF business sale fares

Agree. From what we've seen it has been very much a case of no availability at times people have been asking for.

Flights Help: Amex Points and Transferring to Other Airlines?

I agree that using points with Amex Travel is not good value if you are comparing to a points redemption ticket. It is however, very good value if you are comparing to Qantas Points + Pay. The Amex redemption rate of 1c per point is far superior to Qantas when redeeming for cash value. It is...

Airlines blaming each other [QF fails to inform EK of cancelled booking]

There should be no manual intevention in the cancellation. All online booking systems cancel immediately and cancelling QF cancels with EK at the same time. For the refund I can understand a manual process, but not the cancellation. That would be archaic if it were manual !

Airlines blaming each other [QF fails to inform EK of cancelled booking]

Definitely QF at fault here. There is a difference between cancellation and refund too, which they are blurring. Cancellation is the cancelling of the flights in the PNR. The cancellation should happen straight away, because otherwise the seats are blocked from sale. Cancelling them releases...

Dublin from $4550 return flying Cathay Pacific Business Class

If your outbound date is available, see if they will do an FOC reissue for when then inbound becomes available. Most airlines will. So you can lock in the fare now.

    Middle Name on QR booking

Cathay and Singapore bave been the most prominent in terms of needing middle names lately. They still allow travel, but are just difficult. With Cathay online check in isn't possible if the middle name isn't included. But I wouldn't stress. With QR you'll be fine.

    Mixed Class JAL/BA Booking

Yes, that's right. An award booking will always be on a separate ticket, and also in a separate PNR to a cash booking. JAL do have super good J fares the whole way - what's your budget?

Booked JAL flights via corp travel agent - how can I manage booking?

The TA can't lock down seating etc, so if anyone is doing that it is the airline. MMB via JAL should work fine, although you will be unlikely able to see it in your QF profile unless it had a QF flight in the itinerary sonewhere.

    Middle Name in QFF Profile

The middle name requirement varies by airline. QF doesn't require it. What we have seen recently is more airlines being "difficult" when it isn't included, so we are now booking clients as a matter of course with their middle names included. Cathay and Singapore are the most prominent and while...

    Emirates vs Singapore business class

To clarify on 3 - if you book the QF flight number, then you won't get the chauffeur drive. You need to be on the EK flight number for that. I am more of a fan of the style of the SQ cabins. The seats are love it or hate it. The service is better on SQ.

Booking class after involuntary schedule change

Fare bucket doesn't matter in a schedule change like this. As long as seats are available in the original cabin booked, you are able to change to the flight and it goes into the higher fare bucket. The airline will try it on, but it's their own rules!

Will Qantas pay EU261 compo for QF2 LHR 4hr+ delays?

We had clients on this flight and they contacted us after it became apparent to them that QF on the ground in London weren't doing much to help (never mind the Customer Journey Managers in Sydney who should have looking after the key people onboard while the aircraft was returning to London)...
