US Dividend Miles - Post Your SUCCESSFUL oneworld bookings here

US Dividend Miles - Award Booking Questions and General Discussion

Again, thanks Mel for your advice. I tried the toll free USDM about an hour ago and the system was still 'over capacity' and that was that. Did a bit of digging and found the UK USDM number. Reactivated some old Skype credit and tried that number. Got a very helpful agent who I told a bit more...

US Dividend Miles - Award Booking Questions and General Discussion

Invaluable. So I pulled up my original email from USDM with the ticket number. Then compared it to what's in my USDM account. The number in my USDM account is exactly the same EXCEPT there's a 3 on the end. And so now I'm utterly confused Sorry forgot to add that it was at the rates desk for...

US Dividend Miles - Award Booking Questions and General Discussion

Something very amiss has happened and I'm not sure how it's going to fall back to earth! Told agent I'd been asked to call back in order to pay some extra taxes for a changed booking. She looked at the booking and said everything was fine, I asked her to read back the flights she had, there...

I'm not expecting it will work when I call back this arvo and probably for the reasons you mention but I will report back.

Which is what I found strange. Is there something in the membership guide about that? I didn't expect it to work because they couldn't see the segments married up but they could see the separate flights with seats available and were willing to try it so I wasn't going to stop them.

US Dividend Miles - Award Booking Questions and General Discussion

They were certainly under the pump. I also spent ~ 4 hours on the phone to USDM. - one agent couldn't have been more helpful and I spent an hour with her searching unsuccessfully (I was showing seats of which she couldn't see anything) - one agent gave me about 5 minutes before telling me "can...

VA cheap fares to DFW via LAX

Remember you're just looking at a seat map there. Some people (unbelievably) don't choose their seats before they fly and are only allocated at the airport when they check in.

    New thread/sticky idea

I like the practicality of the idea, but then Red Roo wouldn't get an overall picture and consensus on different topics. Yes reading through more threads means more work for them but it also gives them better insight IMO.

I came here purely because of the title, I didn't even read the start of your blurb underneath, such was my excitement. Nevertheless I am unable to offer assistance as my expertise lies solely in consumption.

Qantas launches online auction for business class upgrades with 'Bid Now Upgrades'

Re: QF Introduces Upgrade Bidding There has in the past been complaints from AFF that there are empty seats in business, sometimes many. It may be a matter of looking at loads and picking flights where there is generally a light J load and these upgrade bids could fill those seats for decent value.

    TransAsia Airways Bridge Crash

It looks (from the video posted) like when the aircraft comes into picture on the left that it's almost wings level albeit nose up attitude. What's a VMCA event?

    Ask The Pilot

Thanks so much! That is going to keep me amused for hours! Love it More media speculation, but what concerned me again in this is this theme that when the aircraft drops out of normal law, some pilots (trying not to generalise) seem to not understand where the limits are. I'm keenly interested...

    Ask The Pilot

What is the Flight Augmentation Computer (FAC)? What reasons would there be to disable it? And yes I'm referring to speculation regarding the airasia flight, but I've also never heard of this system before.

    Ask The Pilot

I'm interested in where you regard your personal limits could be. I understand this goes against safety culture and you wouldn't consider doing it for real.. But for hypothetical reasons.. You had a comfortably laden but passenger free 767/747/380. You had a competent co pilot. There was a 1...
