I havent seen much mention of AS as a possible alternative. I understand no ~ requirement and redemptions count toward status. Has anyone run the numbers?

I'm a regular enough visitor to always be able to use a Bunnings GC. And also enough of a points tragic to like that any change <$10 comes in cash

I've not seen Bunnings cards at Coles for a while. Used to be a good way of getting spend up for VA SCs. I had assumed they phased them out when you staryed getting Flybuys directly at Bunnings but seems I'm mistaken (and maybe unobservant)

IIRC there was a bit of a media storm when it started. As a result, its sparsely populated and isnt part of everyones practice

Not sure but I ended up getting an SQ leg and that has a TK codeshare number. I dont think QF metal/TK number woukd credit anywhere except TK (and Im not 100% sure of that)

Alaska would be even better given status earning for redemptions (not that I'd expect it to happen with no Aus flights)

When I booked a J return flight with TK recently, the offered QF option was in Y, so buyer beware
