Upgrade to business from economy on N, O or Q

Just my guess, but it might be a non-upgradable fare. But I can't remember the last time I did not see an option to upgrade, regardless of the fare band my booking was in. Or, do you happen to have a non-BA sector (or maybe even non-BA-operated sector) within the booking, or have another...

Upgrade to business from economy on N, O or Q

I don't know whether that would be do-able, but I could try next time. But not all QF flights are available as BA codeshare, so it doesn't necessarily solve the problem. In any case, I am not sure what happens if I subsequently want to put in a points upgrade request - surely if I am on a BA...

    Big development! Qantas seat selection!

Not that they are likely to want to sit there, but they could make it available to them, so that WP/SG with a front-row-of-class fetish can have it, that's all.

Upgrade to business from economy on N, O or Q

While QF is at it, I would like them to make it easy and at a reasonable cost to upgrade single sector out of a multi-sector booking, with money (I have quite a lot of points but I do not always want to use them), like the BA website lets you, AND without charging a one-way fare (the extra fares...

    Big development! Qantas seat selection!

Indeed. I am not too happy about this either.

    Big development! Qantas seat selection!

The ones I did included a number of SYD <-> MEL. The remaining seats were a bit poor (the worst one being the 4th row of economy being the first one with aisle or window availability, from memory), but I think almost every one of the flights had the exit row still completely empty. I couldn't...

    Young-ish pax experiences

No chance with me. In fact, even if QF did have PJs that fit me, I still wouldn't wear them on board because I still cannot bring myself to wearing PJs in public - aircraft cabin included. If I'm wearing a business attire, that's what I sleep in on board. So, if the aircraft goes tech and I...

    Big development! Qantas seat selection!

 That would cause me not to book my flight with the NB (but soon to be PG) spouse on the same itinerary!

Qantas to charge passengers extra for exit row seats

This is a concern (and a breach of CASA safety regulations, I believe), if they are deemed suitable by QF to sit in the exit row if they are indeed having substantial enough problems. Well, it's kind of good that people consider $80-160 excessive. How about QF twisting this situation into...

Qantas to charge passengers extra for exit row seats

If are having problems with their knees, they should not even be considering or be considered suitable for being seated in the exit row, regardless of the costs or the lack thereof.

    Big development! Qantas seat selection!

I have just pre-allocated some seats and I don't find it particularly good. I could not get the first row on most flights unless I wanted to sit in the middle seat. I could not get the second row on some flights either, unless I wanted to sit in the middle seat. As a WP I would like to see...

Qantas to charge passengers extra for exit row seats

I have just been allocating seats to myself. Exit rows were available but I don't do domestic exit rows - not a lot of point. I had difficulties getting Row 1 and even Row 2 in some cases. I wish Qantas blocked a bit more for WPs. I don't really like sitting too far down the back unless there...

Changes to Qantas Checked Baggage Allowance from 1 December

I wish QF had the BA system of excess baggage (e.g. £90 for bag up to 23kg for some long haul legs, discounted to £72 if paid in advance online). It will make my life easier and QF may get more revenue from me as I'll quite happily bring back 10 suitcases full of my personal belongings on a...

    Big development! Qantas seat selection!

Not for me for international or domestic legs (I checked quite a few of them) either.

Changes to Qantas Checked Baggage Allowance from 1 December

The staff may have been a bit inflexible, but they acted within the rules and they were technically correct, so I do not think one can complain or say that they acted in a hostile manner. It seems that the definition of hostility has changed to 'someone doing what one does not like'. It sounds...

Qantas to charge passengers extra for exit row seats

I think the trouble is that for most routes, QF is the only 'home market carrier' from Australia. QF seem to sometimes have the home market arrogance and forget that people still have choices and if their service level falls below expectation or if they stop treating their loyal customers well...

Qantas to charge passengers extra for exit row seats

I'm sure you've seen the overwing exits on 737. They're pretty narrow. The passengers needed the extension seat belt - the belt being extended all the way, and it still could only 'just' be fastened and dug right into them, so they were rather wide.

Qantas to charge passengers extra for exit row seats

Maybe stocky then, rather than sturdy :p, but anyway, I think I clarified what I mean by obese - maybe I should say 'really obese, not 'merely obese by BMI criteria'. Anyway, I shouldn't let this drift too off-topic, should I. Let's go back to complaining about "Shock horror, Qantas penalising...

Qantas to charge passengers extra for exit row seats

I took you to have meant "to prevent drowning in a sinking vehicle" and not 'before I drowned' (as in I dragged others out and then drowned but hey, I'm a ghost, I'm doing OK) :p

Qantas to charge passengers extra for exit row seats

From your description you sound more sturdily built than obese - a lot of rugby players would be 'obese' according to BMI but they are hardly 'obese' per se. Determining obesity through BMI is flawed as far as I'm concerned. So I would have no issue with your being seated in the exit row...
