    QF2 diversion to Baku

Agree about the overall safety of the country being a consideration, I differ over qualities like religious or sexual identity freedoms ( or lack thereof) being a significant factor in the pilots decision making. If the airline does this in their policies and procedures, then all credit to them...

    QF2 diversion to Baku

I think a passenger has some responsibility to try and avoid routes that have a reasonable chance of going to such places that they don't feel safe going to or feel strongly enough about. Acquaintances of mine have done this for years. It's a bit of a stretch for an airline to try and factor in...

Classic Rewards available only when not logged into QFF account?

I've seen Classic Reward showing on the top banner and find out its CR + when looking at the flights quite a bit - both logged in and out - for a couple of months. Also the 'lowest' $ fare is not always available for any flight.

    QF2 diversion to Baku

All the crew have the same sign in time, so the clock ticks the same presumedly. I believe QF crews normally consist of 1 captain, 2 First Officers and 1 Second Officer, so not quite 2 sets of crew in any event.

    Budget Mystery Car

Don't know about EV, but in one instance (not with Budget) I got a Hyundai Staria. While not a bad vehicle I did ask about any other vehicle available - not the easiest thing to reverse park and when you're the only occupant not what you need - and was told no other vehcles available. Truth or...

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

If one booking is revenue and the other an award then through check to another OW carrier is excluded from the restriction according to that policy quoted. In practice there seems to be a mixed experience from posts in these forums.

QFF Platinum requesting release of extra Classic Reward seats?

To my knowledge there is no phone menu option for release requests, so new points booking seems the most relevant.

    Australian Passport question

Maybe an issue with the airline, the default view for some is need the 6 month minimum validity. A discussion or phone call will sort it but but best to be prepared for this at check in

Regent returning to Australia and new InterContinentals in Australia

A typo on my part - many MPs don't stay in hotels. The staffers and lobbyists is a different matter.

Article: Public Servants Spent $1 Million More on Flights During Double Qantas Status Credits

From memory, the last WOAG tender requested allocation of FF points to the agency who purchased the travel, for them to use on future bookings where reward seats were available, but it didn't get up. Agencies keep a bank of credits from cancelled bookings etc and try to get them used on other...

Article: Public Servants Spent $1 Million More on Flights During Double Qantas Status Credits

The agency I worked for did (and still does) provide cash in the bank account for travel per diems and meal allowances - QBT and AOT for flights and accommodation. My gut feel is that they stayed with this as the management and risk overhead of mandating anyone who travelled to have a corporate...

Is Norfolk Island a Qantas International Destination?

The External Territories are a unique beast, governed by Federal laws but treated differently than the states and NT/ACT for some. Eg travel from mainland is domestic under the Migration Act but international under the Customs Act. Resulting in valid points for domestic/ international when...
