    Woolworths gift card thread

Any time where I’ve had to chase up points in circumstances like this EDR seem almost over-obliging to give you the points - certainly very apologetic.

Max Bundle - didn't get the qantas points or status credits

That’s a good point about being able to get a full cash refund for both sectors in the event of a significant schedule change on one of them. I don’t mind having a few JQ vouchers as I fly JQ enough that I burn through them easily. I always book MAX bundle when flying JQ as it creates good...

Max Bundle - didn't get the qantas points or status credits

With JQ I always buy two one-way tix rather than a return tix. I always buy the max bundle. If I want to change a leg I’m only dealing with that leg. I also always book the new flight afresh, and then cancel the old flight. Yes, I end up with a flight credit but they last 3 years and I fly...

Qantas doesn't care about priority boarding

In my experience priority boarders can take someone traveling with them, who is not otherwise priority in their own right, through the PB queue with them.

    Woolworths gift card thread

Everyone can attribute their own value to a QANTAS point - depending what you want to use them for. If you just want to use them to buy toasters you’d be better off getting the 4% discount off the purchase price of the gift card rather than build up more points. If, however, you want to build up...

    First lounge hypothetical

I’ve done both legs before separately but not together. I understand the logistics of the immigration requirements. If I get swung onto a domestic the deal will be off, and I’ll cancel (for a flight credit - I always add the max bundle for the extra benefits)

    First lounge hypothetical

In December I’m flying JQ from MEL-SYD on a cheap JQ flight leaving from the international terminal after I’ve enjoyed brekkie in the First Lounge. I’m then meeting a friend in the SYD First Lounge for lunch, and then we’re both flying to MEL on another cheap JQ flight from the international...

    Qantas Lounge Gold Coast

As a poor old retired senior, I can confirm that the public transport from OOL is brilliant and cheap. I head to the gold coast very often, and when I first started coming up here regularly I was still working. I waltzed out of the terminal in corporate mindset, jumped in a taxi -“take me to...

Qantas double status credits OR double points offer [book 23-28 March 2023]

Not generally, but it depends on the t&c. Usually it must be QF on a QANTAS plane.

QFF Platinum requesting release of extra Classic Reward seats?

I guess of course there’s diamonds in the rough in all the call centres, but in Hobart they are almost, if not all, very good.

QFF Platinum requesting release of extra Classic Reward seats?

I’m P1, and got there through spending money I’d saved from not having European vacations in 2020 and 2021 on business class flights to Europe in 2022 using DSC flight credits from COVID era canceled flights. Plus a bit of other strategizing. And retained it easily in 2023 because of the 1800SC...

Renew Points Club / Points Club Plus - worth it ?

My aim is to maximize the points earn through my normal expenditure. You can leverage significant earn, plus a new credit card or two, and PC+ just falls into your lap each year. In 23/24 I’ll get to LTG and the race to accumulate SCs is over (LTP is simply unachievable) so my strategy changes...

Qantas double status credits OR double points offer [book 23-28 March 2023]

Not that it’s much consolation, but when QANTAS canceled a flight forming part of my AMEX travel booked December 2023 status run to NZ (booked during the DSC offer period and flying in the DSC flight window),I sorted out an alternative but emphasized to AMEX that the QANTAS PNR was to stay the...

Next Qantas Double Status Credit Offer

I don’t mind when they have it so long as there is concurrently a worthwhile Status run on special to be doubled up on

Qantas frequent flyers unleash over ‘almost worthless points’ in submissions to Senate

Agree in full - status enables Classic Rewards to be secured where it would otherwise be very difficult. And that’s one of the reasons we are all doing this! I did the same thing this year - points return to SIN, revenue fare SIN to Italy return. Saved $6-7k thanks to the tips in the AFF...

    Pre-purchasing additional baggage (QF domestic)

I think you’ll find: $100 excess baggage fee at the airport $50 if purchased in advance

Next Qantas Double Status Credit Offer

Going back as far as 2016, all DSC offers were in the first half of the calendar year except in 2018 when they happened in both August and October (as well as February).

Should Qantas pay back Job Keeper ?

Paying back jobkeeper (which mainly went to the stood down employees rather than QF anyway) would not garner the airline one iota of goodwill from the types who are currently deriding it.

QFF Bonus Status Credits/Points gift on back of Aug 2023 profit

No they're not giving it to anyone (and fair enough too). But all you have to do is be a FF, have quoted your membership number and have booked (by 21 August 2023) a Qantas (QF) marketed and operated flight for travel between 1 July 2022 and 30 August 2023.
