Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

Yup. People - just ask. A lot of FAs literally blink when you do, as in they completely forgot about it. Want something from Y menu? Just ask. As I keep telling my wife - you want something, just ask.

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

VA are very good if you ask for more food. They often have extra snacks loaded in J ("The Pantry") or you can ask for stuff from the Y cart. We had in the past - chips, fresh olives, tiny sandwiches, tons of cough from Y neatly plated up. There's no need to go hungry in VA J.

Virgin Australia UpgradeMe pricing and success

Booked Getaway fare two weeks ago for Saturday's MEL-MCY VA1507. Weak upgrade $160, successful last night.

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

If you get the chance, have the trio of dips. Was dinner MEL-BNE on Friday night and a snack BNE-MEL Sunday PM. Ask for some chips to go with it as they don't give you enough pita, though bread roll comes as well. Also, the salads have been upgraded somewhat, with a much nicer dressing and...

    Diet Coke is back!

It's the little things that drive me nuts ... and one of those is that black, soul-less drink known as Coke Zero. Super-stoked yesterday to see Diet Coke is back on VA!

VA cracking down on carry on 7kg limit

Twice - I've removed the bag, put in the in aisle and said "Hey you forgot your bag". I'm immune from looks-of-death, and they can't flare up as the stream of passengers heading the other way keeps the process moving. Wife called me a dbag the second time but I don't care. Thankfully VA now has...

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

VA752 OOL-MEL Char Siu (?) Pork and noodles. Looks like a $5.95 lunch special from a Dixon St food court - however quite tasty.

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

VA313 MEL-BNE Saturday AM. Corn fritters, haloumi, bacon. Not bad at all. We had the hommus plate last week SYD-MEL, very nice. No photo as the FA stole our trays ten minutes after starting the meal, then vanished for the rest of the flight.

Where are you going in 2018?

Boring as heck... MEL-WTB monthly on TL MEL-SIN-HKG quarterly on SQ J credit to VA. MEL-SYD probably every few weeks on VA - usually on points (Y or J), including enough paid sectors to maintain WP. If i'm lucky, MEL-SYD-NOU.

Etiquette in the Lounge - stick your earphones in pleeeeaasse!!!

When this happens - sit down opposite them with a notepad and pen and start furiously taking notes. Have done this once and everyone around killed themselves laughing.

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

Same for everyone. However snacks should be loaded as well for business class (they call it the "Pantry") which has things like chocolate popcorn etc. They can always get you something from the Y menu for no extra charge. If you need special food, take it yourself.

I have finally done it! [BIS VA WP]

Congratulations. And double-congrats as you did it for real - without pooling from the family etc. You deserve an "Up in the air" chat with the Chief Pilot or something similar :)

    Dirt around air vents

Yeah, when I sat down the first thing that came into my head was "I could use a Chux and some S&W around this cabin". FAs usually get embarrassed when I bring this kind of stuff up, and I don't like doing that to them. No reply on twitter. so meh. Case closed.

    Dirt around air vents

No, I gave up giving feedback to VA years ago. Only reason we still fly with them is the ease of booking reward domestic J.
