Small sidetrack - have anyone tried to “Fly Behind”? If flying ahead is a benefit then it feels to me volunteering to take a later flight is beneficial to VA as well?😅

Perhaps even more surprisingly that’s a 60W PD USB-C, plenty capable of charging a lightweight laptop in the absence of an AC socket. Very nice.

It’s only LAX-PVG and only 4 flights per week initially until December which will increase to daily. On the grand scheme of things it’s still just a fraction of capacity compared to pre pandemic UA so the extra 1.5 787 this route will take is relatively minor compared to the overall 787 fleet...

If you call the agent can process it over the phone to refund the points immediately, though I would make sure to mention that you need the points back now so the agent does it on the spot. If you use the web form it generally takes 3-5 business days for someone to action the request.

That's too bad. I really do prefer SQ (or QR/EY/NH even for that matter) when going to the US East Coast (namely New York) over via SFO/LAX. The 2 West Coast hub are just way too busy and connecting onto a domesitc flight means there's no nice duty-free / lounge option to kill time.

VA is really trying to pump up those forward bookings. Not really a surprise but just shows that demand across the board is continuing to be soft.
