The QF codeshares always booked into a Business Class fare bucket, so they won't change. It's just the AA flight numbers that are being amended. It hasn't happened to all flights yet, but I expect it will gradually change over for everything in the coming weeks.

AA have started to re-classify existing bookings from First to Business. Previously we had people booking in P class, and AA have just changed those bookings to I Class. So the change is being made retrospective.

An excellent idea - They work best for itineraries like that where you stop somewhere for a few days, then jump back on the next ship. They are supply ships, not cruise ships so they are never going to offer the onboard experience of a big ship. But they're a unique way of seeing Norway.

I don't think there is an online site where you can combine these. I'm a TA, so just built it in the GDS. There are some things only a human can do :-) On the 27th, you can use the A380 from LA to Sydney, rather than have to go to Brisbane on the 747. Happy to help if you PM me your detials.

You would have always needed to collect your bag on arrival in the US, so in that direction there's no change. The risk is still the same now as it was pre change, should things run late out of Sydney. You would only ever have been protected if the AA flights were booked into the same ticket as QF.

To avoid these fees, you need an agent who is IATA accredited and can issue their own tickets rather than using a consolidator. It is true that those USA fares are all at 0% commission, which is why the consolidators add a ticketing fee that an agent who doesn't ticket themselves has to pass on...

It needs to be the same ticket. Different tickets in one booking will not have the allowances inter related between them.
