Really, travel light/carry on only - how on earth do you do it?!

Hair products? You'd better tell us the brand of hair products that you value so much that you don't want to check in (not being sarcastic - I really want to know). Anyway, I can sympathise with not wanting to check in some of the shopping. I've just brought back some glassware and clothes back...

How many diverted flights have you been on ?

Generally speaking, powering the IFE = using fuel.

How many diverted flights have you been on ?

I suddenly remembered being on a 747 which had an engine failure and did a return-to-departure port. This was many, many years ago though. A total non-event, except that it caused about a 12-hour delay while they fixed this offending engine

    Early-morning chaos in Sydney

Coupled with a very long and slow quarantine queue and (potentially) rude immigration and quarantine officers, it certainly gives a terrible impression to tourists. I've had far better experience arriving into third world countries than Australia to be honest. Australia still rates as my worst...

Really, travel light/carry on only - how on earth do you do it?!

Here is an interim measure for 2-wheel suitcases. You need a strap that links the two suitcases (the larger one in front, the smaller one behind). Some of the suitcases (soft ones) have a built-in linking strap in the top pocket. That way, you can drag two with one hand. It's heavier and harder...

Police called to Qantas Domestic Perth after flight cancellation

I thought they were for delivery within China but I may be wrong.

Really, travel light/carry on only - how on earth do you do it?!

Hahaha! I have done a similar thing on QF! Not once, but twice or three times. OK, I've finally learnt. Who can blame you... Just buy a 2nd suitcase, like I have just done (OK, it wasn't a 2nd suitcase I bought this time, because I have something like 8 suitcases from those antics now...

    Excess baggage charges for WPs?

I call this 'don't expect it and go prepared to pay, but if they don't charge you, that's rather nice'.

    Are Qantas A380's still grounded?

My spouse and I spend a lot of time every month on Airbuses and we have no particular concerns about the aircraft itself.

How many diverted flights have you been on ?

I think mine has been about 3 out of 300 sectors or so over the last 3 years (about 150 Australian domestic, 150 overseas/international). They were all very minor diversions though - two to an alternative local airport with CAT III, one was a fuel diversion due to weather-related congestion at...

Qantas Services Moving to London Heathrow Terminal 3 October 29

I *think* (thought I may have got this wrong) they will be opening the F side when/just before BA flights move there. Currently there is no Floung at T3 Galleries and not even showers. I'd be surprised if QF opened its own lounge too, especially when they're trying to save money.

Is Qantas diluting the benefits of status?

    I agree. Also, if I find that I keep getting op-upped (i.e. 75% probability or better), I wouldn't bother buying a J ticket.

Is Qantas diluting the benefits of status?

If you're flying international F though, check-in process would be just about the same if you are a FF member or not though. I think one of the great benefits of high-tier FF membership is avoidance of queuing through the use of J/F check-in counter, but of course you'd use the F check-in if you...

Is Qantas diluting the benefits of status?

That's fair enough, and I do sort of see the point of registering. The thing was, though, it was actually a rhetorical question (hard to get it to come across correctly online at times!). All I was trying to say (mainly in response to Evan's comment, I think, because he seemed surprised that...

Is Qantas diluting the benefits of status?

I think what QF is doing is to try not to devalue the premium cabin. The thing is though, QF seems to be doing financially better than BA, so BA is probably not such a good example for QF to follow, perhaps?

Fly QF to London in J seats at PE price

Thank you Garyjohn and ejb. Time for me to sit and consider if I'd rather pay J and sit in F without the F service, or pay PE and sit in J seat. Is QF using any of the PE seats for PE pax, or are they all getting shifted to J on QF29/30? (I should stop being dopey and book it pretty soon...

    AMEX not accepted or surcharge

Re: AMEX not accepted or surchage It depends on how much hair you have, i.e. length and volume, but particularly length. Most women with long hair would argue that good hair products are not over rated. I guess it might prove that you are not a woman with long hair, and neither is Markis...

Fly QF to London in J seats at PE price

Call me utterly dumb but how are the "J seats for PE" seats allocated? First come first served, or by status etc? Being that I don't drink in public, if I can 'almost guarantee' to get a J seat, I'd rather pay PE and sit in J seat than buying a J seat and end up in J seat anyway (i.e. I don't...
