Rex in voluntary administration, ending all 737 services

The tax payer already subsidises ZLs flying. Realistically, on the only routes that are “critical” they are already taking from the public purse. You’d really have to wonder what more the government can (and should) do.

Virgin Australia to lease more 737s

I believe VA have stated they are receiving another 2 ex MI planes. This was before today, so possibly a few more I guess?

Rex in voluntary administration, ending all 737 services

“We’ve activated the 2 week free trial so we are sure as hell going to use it!!”

Rex in voluntary administration, ending all 737 services

That escalated quickly… I suspect the fat lady is warming up. The 737 operation is worthless. The brand is worthless. They’ve run the Saab operation into the ground so far that it’s likely not recoverable (nor financially appealing to an investor). It’s always been a bottom feeder operation run...

Wouldn’t both be a dream world! Either is a win though.

Rex to fly between Australian capital cities

Try having a read of their business plan PowerPoint presentation if you can find it. The company doesn’t have the talent or ability to operate in the market they’ve chosen to go after. The entire plan was based on Virgin never recovering.

Credit Card Offers Virgin Money Velocity Flyer Offers & Discussion

Yep they do. I had them oddly reject me earlier in the year. Sent them an email and asked for a reassessment. Outlined income very clearly in dot form and it was subsequently approved.

Rex to fly between Australian capital cities

Skytrans might pickup a few of the QF dash 8s. They’re probably a big enough player to take over the subsidised routes.

Qantas Hotels no longer supplying Tax Invoices

By international hotel do you mean a hotel outside of Australia? In this case, there is no GST and technically no requirement for a tax invoice. You’ll note that Qantas International bookings aren’t actually issued with a tax invoice and have a disclaimer like “there is no GST on international...

Rex to fly between Australian capital cities

Who’d want to take it over? The 737 operation is a total failure, the SAAB network has been decimated. They have no crew, more than half the fleet isn’t airworthy and QantasLink has stepped into all the routes that made money without government assistance. REX is sadly in its death throws...

Qantas Hotels no longer supplying Tax Invoices

I’m having flashbacks of a fight with Expedia years ago about tax invoices… I can’t remember how it was resolved, but I do recall many fruitless calls and emails with their offshore agents who had absolutely no idea (for a while thinking I needed a “text invoice”). Just as an experiment, I had...

Credit Card Offers HSBC Star Alliance Credit Card: Fast-Track to Star Alliance Gold Status

To be honest, I’m not sure making a fuss will even do much. Those who have tried just get passed around in circles until it eventually sorts itself out without intervention.

Qantas premium economy is a bit tired

Should the title be “Qantas as an airline is a bit tired”? We all know they’re pretty awful. Sadly, there are often no other viable choices.

    Citibank "4th night free" perk

Answered your own question there. The concierge service with this card has always been an absolute joke (much like Citi in general). NAB are clearly trying to move away from the “premium” Citi products and just focus on the money makers (ie; high interest lending to people who can’t really...

AirAsia X will fly to Nairobi

Decent option for business (if their flat beds remain cheap). Not sure of the game plan though. Hardly a low cost tourist destination, and I can’t imagine there’s a lot of business or VFR to warrant a direct service.
