I heard this from VA call centre. I attempted to upgrade my flight to China (code share with singapore) and was told that upgrades are not available for long haul international, but could be done for short haul international. I didnt think to ask what ports from mel that may have included...

Back in the day when metal teaspoons were given out on board I would collect one from each airline, so long as it had the airline logo on it. Alas, I have not seen many these days. My collection remains at four :)
