Pleasantly surprised with the Darwin Qantas lounge last night, open earlier than I expected (23:15), had some hot food (satay chicken and rice, some spring rolls etc. I'm the Melbourne lounge for a few hours this morning, found a quiet corner for a snooze.

Exactly. Do it like Virgin, the PB lane is for priority guests, you can join that lane anytime and whoever is in the lane just goes ahead of the other lane doesn't matter when they join the line. They can start the normal pax just hold them back when a new person joins the PB line.
