    NRT Minimum Connection Time?

That’s a good point and definitely something to consider! I’d be factoring a one night layover of these two flights aren’t on the same ticket. The good news: looking at FR24, the JL492 service from Guam has an excellent record for on-time running.

Lapland for the Polar Night, + Austria and France

Zurich was just a one night stopover to break up the trip. It can be an expensive place, but fortunately I had enough Marriott points to book a reward room at the Zurich Marriott, which is about a 10 minute walk from the Bahnhof. Only had to pay the city taxes, so it cost about 10 francs. I'll...

Lapland for the Polar Night, + Austria and France

Yes as it happens I have been to Saariselka some years ago, but not in the winter. We stayed at the glass igloo place in Autumn, and saw the northern lights on a few different nights. What an experience. https://www.kakslauttanen.fi/accommodation#glass-igloos It's an amazing part of the world.

Lapland for the Polar Night, + Austria and France

Our xmas week in Seefeld comes to a close and it's time to continue our journey. The next destination is Strasbourg in France, but it's a bit far to travel in a day, so we break up the trip with a night in Zurich. It's roughly halfway. We get a local train out of Seefeld down the valley to...

Confirmed upgrade then IROPs, what to expect.

Good luck! Possibly some good news is that QF94 appears to be delayed until 2248. That buys you an extra 18 mins.

Confirmed upgrade then IROPs, what to expect.

Ok understood. My best guess is that you will make it if there are no further delays. Your luggage may or may not. If you want to keep an eye on the delayed inbound aircraft here is a link. It is airborne now, so hopefully they can claw back some time. https://www.flightradar24.com/AAL596/391e38bb

Confirmed upgrade then IROPs, what to expect.

This is getting a bit hard to follow. They have announced the domestic leg is delayed? Is this happening now? Earlier it sounded like you were talking hypotheticals. In any case, it's not uncommon for US domestic flights, to be delayed 30, 60, 90 mins. Particularly later in the day as delays...

    How long is the layover?

Confirmed upgrade then IROPs, what to expect.

Ok it sounds more like you are describing a misconnect scenario, rather than irrops? Is there an earlier flight into LAX?

Confirmed upgrade then IROPs, what to expect.

It really depends, but I think in most cases they will be squeezing pax onto available replacement aircraft any which way. Upgrade may be cancelled and refunded. What was the exact scenario?

On recent trips it has been bang on with notifications of gate changes, delays and so on, well before you got anything from the relevant airline app (if at all). You usually get the text advising which luggage belt while you are still taxiing to the gate. I figure if we don't support these...

J/F EK Classic Rewards - Reducing Carrier Charges ex Europe?

I was going off the topic heading "Saving Taxes ex-Europe" Not exactly ex-Europe? Is the suggestion they go EU - DXB - SIN - SYD? Is that necessarily cheaper than just EU - DXB - SYD?

J/F EK Classic Rewards - Reducing Carrier Charges ex Europe?

If I recall, the poms charge a very large tax on outbound flights, and it gets higher for longer routes, premium cabins. So avoid departure from the UK if possible.

Lapland for the Polar Night, + Austria and France

Boxing day arrives and we have the best conditions the alps have experienced for the xmas-new year period in many years. Lots of fresh snow. Cracking weather. Happy travellers enjoying their winter break. Another activity that Seefeld is particularly known for is telemark ski touring. This...
