    787 is gonna be late!

It'll be interesing to see what mainline decide to do with them now they're equipped with the ER engines. The original 4 QF aircraft with no skybeds, I guess they'll go back onto CityFlyer service between SYD & PER? (VH-EBA to VH-EBD) The last two aircraft (VH-EBE & VH-EBF) were...

    MEL - HNL Options?

If I were you, I would definitely go for Air NZ on this route. NZ has a better seat pitch than Qantas and will allow you to stretch your legs in Auckland and reduce the time sitting down. I haven't flown them but Hawaiian Airlines may offer cheap flights out of SYD that you could look at- it...

Lion Air announce intentions for Dom Aust flights

It's amazing how JQ throw around the "Qantas Group" line whenever they might be in trouble and can manipulate people. This is no different to the Jetstar ads in Japan clearly stating that Jetstar is a Qantas airline. Don't expect QF service though, and as the Jetstar CSM said to a fellow pax...

    787 is gonna be late!

Possibly the A380 from LAX to SYD/MEL. At the moment, QF hope to introduce the A380 at the end of August onto LAX flights. At this stage, it looks like QF93 & QF94 (the direct MEL flights) will get the Airbus first. With one aircraft to start with, it'll only be a few days a week until more...

SQ is handed the keys to 2nd A380

According to wikipedia, MSN014, QF 1st (VH-OQA) will make it's debut flight on Monday. Either way, it's definitely an exciting prospect to see light at the end of the tunnel. List of Airbus A380 orders and deliveries - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    whY oh whY !

Ok Evan, I'll sympathise with you. :p But that looks like you're meeting the boss in Europe twice? At least if it's for the boss, you need to convince him you need to fly J so you're refreshed etc. :D whY oh whY are the rules so black and white. But do enjoy it, must be a...

    787 is gonna be late!

Actually, I agree that it's not too bad. I've done BKK and found the service ok. But give me QF over JQ anyday. ;) The thing I dislike (but it's a great business model) is the movement of low yield routes to Jetstar where the passengers then have no option to fly a full service carrier/the...

    787 is gonna be late!

Considering the first of the 787's are off to Jetstar, a delay can only mean that more of the QF leisure routes will remain will QF a little longer before being spun off to Jetstar and passengers enjoying Jetstar's "award winning" LCC customer service. So maybe it's a good thing.

    RTW - Suggestions need

Hi Opportunity 2008. Welcome to AFF!!! I have to agree, bestflights is a great website for looking at the fares and getting an idea of what's available. From having a quick look, the Qantas, Air Canada, Lufthansa fare looks pretty good and seems to meet your requirements at $6,649 + taxes...

    Two And A Half Men

I agree with OP, it's one show on QF that I detest and tune out too. Sadly, it seems to be a common occurrence on the BNE-CNS flights. That and Thank God You're Here have me in stitches. The looks from other passengers who don't get the humour, priceless. :p

    Brissy dinner?

Char Char Char is always a good choice if you're into steak but there's also a really nice Roasted duck dish. Prices for mains are around $40 and the desert is pretty good too. Pier 9 is popular if you're after seafood. (or so I'm told but I would come out with my face double the size so I...

The Apple Ipod song has been stuck in my head for the last two days. YouTube - Feist - 1 2 3 4 Now I'm back at work I'm getting all nostalgic and wishing I could be back in the Apple store in New York. :p

BAA lifts hand luggage limit on some UK Airports

I like that on BA flights you're now allowed 23kg's of hand luggage providing you can lift it into the overhead locker. That's another whole suitcase of weight on British Airways. :p

    Chance of award upgrade?

 Thanks Serfty, it was a terrible explanation and I must've been smoking something. ;) Thanks! I should add too that upgrades are processed in an order of CL, WP, SG, PS and NB and within each catagory, the amount of time between requesting the upgrade and the departure date is...

    Chance of award upgrade?

The problem with an Award flight is that you're not actually guaranteed a seat and you don't find out until less than 24 hours before hand. If you don't mind the risk, then it may be a better alternative but the only way to guarantee the Business Class seat is to book it.

    Corporate T/A rip-offs

The main reasons TA's have had to make a move towards charging fees is the elimination of commissions on cheaper fares and the vast reduction in overrides and superoverrides from the airlines for obtaining a certain level of sales each contract year. Travel Agent's used to receive up to 10%...

    Cairns Temp Qp

Unfortunately the new/temp one does seem to be a little smaller with less seats than the old QP. It does get quite cramped and I've seen people (mainly kids) sitting on the floor, particularly around lunchtime when there's the QF flights to SYD, BNE, ASP, AYQ & MEL not to mention JQ flights...

    Qantas jet in scare landing......

The flight in question shows as departed at 00:35 this morning. So Qantas must have found a replacement aircraft presuming the other one is still sitting in BKK with it's flight recorders being inspected etc.
