    SYD <--> HKG prices

What about VS upper class YY? As well as sticking the points to your DJ status, there's the limo transfers as well thrown in. Worth a few extra $. Prices in March are $4746 but book into Z class which doesn't get the limo transfers.

    Qantas Fleet

Good news I guess YY. QF have done 3 of the 763's and have started taking out the monitors and putting LCD screens into them. Doesn't look too bad IMO. Though I'll be semi pleased to the see the ex. BA birds go. They look the shabbiest and I dislike not having an air vent. Still, a 767 is...

QF Getting back to Platinum - a Challenge

Re: QF Getting back to Platinum Challenge Hi file51. The upgrade option is a YUPP/KUPP fare which books into P class and awards flights at First Class SC rates. The only problem occurs if there are cancellations or delays and you are accomodated into a lower cabin as per the fare rules. In this...

January Newsletter & Movie Offer is out

Congrats Mal. What did you say about writing cough? :p Well, again I don't seem to have any creativity. No email here. :(

    Qantas Fleet

Now that's an understatement. ;) But I wouldn't mind a fleet planning job. :p I'm pretty sure Jetstar has received all the A330's they were getting for their long haul ops. Four from QF and two newbies which were delivered mid last year. Qantas should have a total of 6 332's by the end of...

Australia's Number 1 Frequent Flyer on ACA

I was thinking the same. I have a colleague who attends a meeting on the first Monday of every month in LON and flies BNE-SYD-LHR return monthly. The role also involves countless travel to the US, Asia and the Pillbara region. It's almost impossible to get a meeting with him. That...

    Where do you get...?

Hi streety. Welcome to AFF! :p I would say work hard at school and then the world's your oyster. (and I know how many times you must have heard that because I'm not that much older than you) Now I have IMHO one of the world's best jobs that lets me study, travel and do a little bit of work as...

Dot's first TR - RTW in two weeks

Great trip report dot. Remind me not to travel with you though, neither of us would end up at the destination ontime or with luggage. ;) Hope the bag turns up and the flights home are on time and uneventful.

Australia's Number 1 Frequent Flyer on ACA

lol, I agree... but we're probably both pretty informed FFers. ;) For the "general once a year traveller" the tips seemed to be okay, though I didn't really agree with the credit card references at the end. I wonder whether ACA might have been slipped some product placement money for the CC's.

    load for cx 100

I think NM may have had a coughoo and his interpretation of tomorrow was actually today. ;) (Unless I'm living in a parallel universe where it's not the 21st January 2008) :p Indeed, seatcounter.com is also showing no availability of CX100 for 22nd January.

    QP Access Tricks

I don't think there's any sure way of getting in but be polite, smile and you never know you're luck. ;) The worst thing they could say is no. Worst come to worse, you could always try and talk another single QPer into taking them in as your guest. But in my experience, they are usually...

Australia's Number 1 Frequent Flyer on ACA

And he says he's averaged 500 hours for the last 30 years. (15,000 hours) So whilst it mightn't make him Qantas number 1 flyer in 2007, he's probably up there on a coughulative basis. It's ACA remember.

    overnight in los angeles

If you've never been to the US before, you could consider a tour which would show you as much of the LA sights as you can and give you a taste of the city. :p There are all sorts of tours and some which are designed for afternoon arrivals with connections to the late night flights. (ie...

More WA capacity - on the Fokkers

I wonder how different the on-board services will be with the flight operated by Alliance staff members. Will the crew wear QF uniform (like National Jet Systems) and presumably the food will be from the QF kitchens? An interesting move from QF considering they're removing 717's from the...

    787 is gonna be late!

 Hmm, the only aircraft I've ever thought I was going to be airsick in. Claustrophobic tin cans. Give me a 737 anyday there. Also known as flying pencil/pointy adult toy. ;)

QF009 travels the world on a blast from the past: my first DONE4

Sadly, I don't think that'll work. It's my understanding that all Australian flights on both BA and QF will operate from the same terminal. (but which one I'm not sure with all the renos planned?)

    787 is gonna be late!

I don't quite understand you distaste for the 767's YY? Each row has two windows, four aisle seats and only one middle seat, better than the 737's. It's easier to get out of seats mid flight, there are more bathrooms, twin aisle makes boarding easier, more business class seats so easier to get...

    Newbie here

Hi Scruba, welcome to AFF. :p My Qantas Club card arrives about a week after I've passed on the paperwork to my employer so I can't imagine it being a long turnaround. Give it a couple of weeks after you've sent the application and you could always call the FF service number if you need...

    International Award Seats

With QF, not very often but it's been known to happen occassionally. More of a chance with carriers like BA though. I've heard of being able to book a F award on BA on the morning of departure after seats opened up.
