    Which FF program?

I can think of a couple way that will give an indication. The O class flights on domestics are always the base Red E Deals so if you go to the specials page on the QF website (Bookings - Flights - Domestic Specials - Australia) and the fare is the same as listed on this page, then it will be O...

    PER-DEN for fun,

Enjoy the trip mykal, though I would be going with the endless Winter. :D On AA you are allowed two bags up to 23kgs as checked luggage in comparison with your three bags at 32kgs on QF so there is a marginal difference. It's at the CSA's discretion whether they charge you but it's USD$50 for...

    Suggestions re RTW itinerary

AA88 seems to be operated as a two class flight between LAX-ORD with seats booking into First Class and Economy. The NGBC is like a Skybed though someone here might be able to provide a more accurate comparison between the MD80 First seat and the seat in question. In March, AA88 leaves at...

MR's - Who stumps the gorrillas?

Since discovering AFF and FT earlier this year, I have become a little bit (okay maybe obsessed) ;) of a FF enthusiast. I stuggled with the concept of making pointless flights like an immediate turnaround to the US or even Adelaide but this site (and mainly FT) has opened my mind to some amazing...

    Honeymoon Flights - Questions

It's a $82.50 joining fee for each of you though this can be waived if you were to both sign up for the Westpac Earth cards which includes complimentary QF FF membership for the cardholders. There was a deal until 31 December that offered a bonus 10,000 points upon signup but this appears to...

    Suggestions re RTW itinerary

Actually, here's what I was looking for. This is from the fare rules on the OW website. http://www.oneworld.com/content/library/oneworld_explorer_13dec2007.pdf

    Suggestions re RTW itinerary

No problems Justin2906. It's definitely the case that when you fly in the US on AA (an AA only) you will be accomodated into the First Class cabin. It is true that if there is no business class available then you have to travel in Economy, but AA is the exception to the rule. :p Actually...

    Honeymoon Flights - Questions

Status credits are the way by which QF frequent flyer's gain elite membership. The more SC's earnt, the more elite you are. QF have four tiers available to everyday Frequent Flyers in order from bottom to top. :p Bronze- everyone starts here, requires no minimum travel Silver- Requires 350...

    Honeymoon Flights - Questions

Hi brycie. Welcome to AFF. :p The only thing I can suggest is to have the QF74 broken into two segments for a few extra status credits ie. SFO-SYD and SYD-MEL both on QF74. Apart from that, enjoy the Honeymoon and play up!!! :D Hey Petch. Even with your other post and this one, I am...

    Suggestions re RTW itinerary

Actually, while we're there. ;) What's the policy on not flying the last segment of an xONEx? For example, if a DONE4 was purchased ex. NRT and the last segment was SYD-NRT, could one just not fly that sector (because of the cost of returning) or would there be all sorts of issues?

    Suggestions re RTW itinerary

I think because the OP avoids ASIA that he should be able to get away with a DONE4. Ie. OZ/NA/EUROPE/AFRICA. Definitely, AA don't charge fuel fines for all the sectors except for the trans pac and trans atlantic whereas QF will hit you for all of them. As Evan mentions, as long as the ticket is...

    Suggestions re RTW itinerary

A couple of quick suggestions on selecting flights for cabin comfort. For the LAX-ORD segment, try and pick AA88 as it's scheduled on a 763. There is a very good chance that this will be in the New Generation Business Class (which is a sleeper seat) as opposed to the other flights which are...

    Round the World in J

You would need to change something because SFO-YYZ would be either an indirect routing or North American transcon which would alter the number of segments allowed in North America. You could definitely drive LAX to LAS but if you wanted to pick up a flight out of LAS and not drive back, this...

    Round the World in J

I've had a quick look at the OW timetables and there is a flight (AA1915) that goes from SFO to LAX but does have one stopover. This must be one of MM weaknesses. Like Serfty mentioned, I would fly out of JFK and try to be on the 77W flight (CX 841/AA6073- though book the AA codeshare if...

How early does Checkin counter at Bkk open for QF?

I really struggled to find the lounge as well. I went down the wrong piers, was directed in the wrong direction by airport and security staff and then walked the wrong way down the pier it's on anyway. Maybe signage has improved since April but it wasn't the easiest to find for a BKK newbie.
