What are the sale dates and destinations for this bargain? It looks very cheap!

QF to launch SYD DFW from 16 May and axe SFO

...which leaves us with the option of AC, AC, AC and AC. Is there any other major OW presence at DFW that would warrant a jointy-operated lounge like the LAX TBIT lounge?

QF to launch SYD DFW from 16 May and axe SFO

Thanks arraitch. That's quite a positive media release. Is the BA lounge in Terminal D a proper BA lounge, or is it operated by a third party (and not available to OW status members)? The OW website mentions nothing about the BA lounge being operated by a third party, but this is contradicted...

Do we know which terminal Qantas is likely to use, or is it likely to be variable?

Status Upgrade - Time Taken to Receive New Card

The good news (for me at least) is that my SG card and baggage tags were awaiting me when I arrived home this afternoon. That is pretty much exactly 5 weeks since my qualification on Saturday 11 December 2010. I hope that everybody else waiting on their new cards and tags gets their packages...

QF to launch SYD DFW from 16 May and axe SFO

The Qantas website doesn't differentiate between the domestic and international aircraft when listing the A330-200's range. All it says is that the range is 5300 miles (8500 km). As has correctly been noted, AKL-LAX is 6504 miles (10,467 km), meaning, logically, that, if all these figures are...

QF to launch SYD DFW from 16 May and axe SFO

A slight correction: according to GC Map, SYD-SFO is 7417 miles, not nautical miles. Qantas credits 7420 miles for the flight. 7420 miles is approximately 6448 nautical miles, or 11,941 kilometres (or 593,600 chains ;)). According to the Qantas website, its A330-300s have a 7000 km (3800...

Status Upgrade - Time Taken to Receive New Card

It looks like we qualified for SG at about the same time then. I'd therefore presume that mine will also take about another 3 weeks, which, if true, makes the lag 8 weeks. I don't know whether I'm being unreasonable, but I would have thought that an eight-week delay was quite unacceptable (and...

Status Upgrade - Time Taken to Receive New Card

Thanks everyone for the replies. It's not good that some members have been waiting for over 2 months for their new cards. I thought five weeks was long enough (even factoring in the Christmas-New Year period)! I think I'll give the QFF number a call on Monday to see how things are going. I...

Status Upgrade - Time Taken to Receive New Card

Hello again, Do any of the learned experts here know of the current lag time between qualifying for a new QFF status and delivery of the new card and baggage tags? I attained SG on 11 December last year (that is, 5 weeks ago) but haven't yet received my card and tags. I did phone Qantas...

QF to launch SYD DFW from 16 May and axe SFO

Good point. The SYD-SFO-DFW option (which I am taking in March) will definitely disappear though (potential Jetstar possibilities aside)!

QF to launch SYD DFW from 16 May and axe SFO

Not as good as the 65 SCs for Discount Economy, 130 SCs for Premium Economy and 260 SCs for Business for the current SYD-LAX-DFW routing, which is bad news for some (particularly those whose intended destination is DFW)!

QF to launch SYD DFW from 16 May and axe SFO

I should also mention that the flight operates Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. It also gives an opportunity to take a 747 domestically from BNE-SYD!

Time taken for QF e-ticket to issue

The question now is whether this late issue of the e-ticket will affect the double status credit offer. As the ticket wasn't issued until yesterday, Qantas actually didn't charge my credit card until yesterday. The double status credit offer required one to "Book and pay for any Qantas...

Can the Aussies hit the tonne?

The discounted fares did become available a short time after midday AEST, and are, surprisingly, still available. I would have though 250 seats would have been snapped-up by now. It seems that the $644 discount doesn't come off until one actually selects flights. When one searches with...
