ANZ Platinum FF Points being capped??

I received my letter today. My entry-level card used to earn 1.25 points per dollar spent on the Amex (uncapped, I think) and 1 point per dollar spent on the Visa, up to $1,500, then 0.5 points per dollar thereafter. The new rates are 1 point per dollar spent on the Amex (up to $3,000) and 0.5...

Lots of new QF flights to the USA/South America,

I'm guessing it's the 747s you're counting above! The QF17/QF18/QF63/QF64 rotation timing works well. Great utilisation. The aircraft sitting on the ground at NRT for over 12 hours, on the other hand, isn't such great utilisation.

Lots of new QF flights to the USA/South America,

Positive news. I like the idea of an evening SYD-LAX flight (QF17). It won't suit those connecting to the east coast, but will suit those checking into LA hotels and those with a shorter-hop connection from LAX to the west coast or thereabouts. The ex-SYD time suits getting away after work!

    Qantas Cruises

Has anybody got any experience relating to points posting for cruises booked through Qantas Cruises, particularly regarding the timing? I have paid in full (deposit months ago, and balance a few weeks ago) for a cruise in October, but haven't seen any points yet. I wonder whether they post...

    Qantas results 28Aug .

The talk in that Aspire Aviation piece about an expanded Sydney Connect service is interesting. Expanding to CTU and KMG, for instance, in Asia and GRU and GIG, for instance, in South America to allow better connections from Asia to South America (and vice versa) via SYD.

adverse zone changes under new system

MIA-SXM, AA, D, drops from 80 SCs to 60 SCs. There is now no benefit now in finding that Caribbean destination >1200 mi (and <1500 mi) from MIA. One just needs to ensure that one gets a destination >750 mi from MIA for those Caribbean status runs, as >1500 mi is a far tougher ask.

Things to do in TSV on a status run

I spent three nights in Townsville over the Australia Day long weekend and found plenty to do. (It was only actually two full days, as I arrived on Friday evening and departed very, very early Monday morning.) It was my first trip there, and I was pleasantly surprised. Given that it was...

Thanks ketsuzei. Great tip. I had a feeling that that was likely the case!

Has anyone had success with the call-up "Marginal" xASA's?

Thanks Aussie_flyer. CBR-SYD-HBA is one I have done previously and have been looking at again. However, looking at the J classic award availability, it doesn't look all that easy to get in January 2014. That's why CBR-MEL-BNE would have been so nice, as an alternative. I'll keep looking for a...

Has anyone had success with the call-up "Marginal" xASA's?

Cheers Aussie_flyer. CBR-SYD-BNE is an okayish run, I guess; but not as good as CBR-MEL-BNE would have been!

How about CBR-MEL-BNE and vv? Does anybody know if this is an available indirect ASA route?

Points posting delays since new website

I think that claims for flights can be made up to 12 months after the flight. Clause 7.3(a) provides: The drop-down list for flight date on the Claim Missing Points page also goes back 12 months (with the month drop down currently having December 2012 to December 2013 as available options)...

    How would you run Qantas?

unwords.com defines rediculous [sic] as "slightly more than ridiculous" and states that the word has its origins as an "emphasised form of ridiculous": see rediculous Definition - The Unword Dictionary (Funnily enough, every time I try to misspell ridiculous with the 're' on a desktop, AFF's...

Points posting delays since new website

Thanks serfty. I had a feeling that that was the likely case. At the extreme, it makes it interesting though where somebody retrospectively claims a flight 11 months after the flight, especially where that flight was taken near the end of a membership year. Crediting to a membership year that...

Points posting delays since new website

Still waiting for my AA flights of 9 and 12 November to post. My membership year ends on 31 December. If the flights don't post by then, and I wait until January to make a (successful) claim, will the status credits count towards 2013 or 2014, I wonder? I would rather they credited to 2014 to...

No such luck with quick posting here. AA flights taken on 9 November and 12 November have not yet posted as of 22 November.
