I flew 'first class' Alaskan Airlines in January and they definitely earn at business class rates. Great product in my experience.

My SC runs to AKL and back were done same day in both August and November 2022. The only issue I had in August was needing to show the now unnecessary NZ COVID entry pass at check-in in Melbourne. That same day return was all in one ticket.

I've done a couple of status credit runs to AKL and back with no issue. I already had my return boarding passes so stayed airside the whole time and haven't been questioned to date.

I always BTC for my son, 9yo. Usually it's a steak. So long as no spices etc on it, he is happy to eat it and then easier to negotiate on the desserts etc. YMMV.

Completely agree. Was able to compare the two last month and definitely preferred AS. Better service and better food. The easy SCs didn't hurt either.

Understand and agree- I don't want to be a PITA but equally I'm not going to wait for hours to get service on a long haul flight. I can't recall a time where I have rang the bell in anything other than long-haul flights- maybe where I needed something for my son.
