I've never put my middle name on bookings and never had an issue. Japan was the only place that someone seemed to notice or care in the slightest, where without comment the check in agent wrote my missing middle name onto the boarding pass with a pen.

For me if they haven't posted within a week then be prepared for it to take months and you should probably send in a claim and then follow up by emails when you hear nothing from that in the 14 days they say it will take. They'll then ask you to send copies of the boarding pass and/or etickets...
