    Upcoming Qantas Frequent Flyer Changes

Leumas - I don't know, but i do believe this would be an expremely poor time for QF to devalue its programme because 1) VAA's new attack on the business market 2) The possibility of a huge cost to Qantas under a carbon tax will mean that it will need to defend its position, as the overall...

    Upcoming Qantas Frequent Flyer Changes

I supspect that there will be no devaluation of the tiers going on, RedRoo has already released some of the bad news - increased surcharges on award bookings, so perhaps we can take this on face value? Again, I believe QFF is trying to bolster its position against VAA, and hence will not do...

    Upcoming Qantas Frequent Flyer Changes

I agree with Febs, there is too much whining going on here. QFF has finally made some progress along the lines that we have been asking them too, and announcing any bad news later will place them at a disadvantage when compared with Virgin Australia's new service. I believe Qantas is trying to...

    Upcoming Qantas Frequent Flyer Changes

It's great to see Qantas making these changes, even though the highest status that I am looking at is Silver... It shall knock some of the wind out of the claims floating around that Qantas is constantly downgrading service.

Virgin Blue embarks on brand overhaul

My only thoughts on the issue are that while Virgin Australia must be an attractive name for the company, neither Virgin Australia or V Australia would appeal to the Samoans (Who own 51%) of Polyneasian Blue Thus I would expect a likely outcome to be the domestic brand to be Virgin Australia...

Qantas fare rises not justified, say analysts

I am no analysist either, but I would expect that the rise in QF's costs due to increased jet fuel prices would be of a larger percentage then the rise in revenue that will be collected due to the additional fares. Put simply, QF's costs have risen more then their revenue, and thus the fare...

CASA serves TT with show cause notice

The problem that I see TT facing is an oil price of $112 (Commonly quoted WTI rate), an even higher Tapis rate, which is what Australia uses, and yet still higher jet fuel prices due to jet fuel being refined primarily from very high grades of oil, which have been off the market due to the...

    Careers/Jobs of Frequent Flyers

Frequent Flyers, Due to prolonged university holidays which have left me bored and seperated from my friends (Currently in Melbourne) i decided to tally up the jobs that we all had, for those who fly as part of their profession. Greetings from Canberra

Positively - i'm studying comm/eco However as to Canberra not being a pleasant place to live - I understand it can be quiet and cold during nighttime, other then that I don't really see any other major flaws, it has everything that I need from a city.

Well in my case I am also a uni student - however I live and attend uni in different states, and my flying is when I choose to go home on a weekend or for a university holliday. Currently I am making a return trip about once every one and a half months. Then there is leisure travel, which is...

    Greetings from Canberra

I have not been on the Dash-8's yet, but not being a large wine drinker I am quite happy on the 737's. However the last 737 I was on was unsually loud - but perhaps it was because I was seated right behind the engine of an old plane.
