    Hilton Sydney

I actually find the exec lounge in Sydney really unappealing - it must just be me. The place feels uninviting. The it usually crowded for dinner and the food can range from good to very average soggy deep fried food. Would like more coughtail/snack food rather than soup & sushi as it isn't...

New QF domestic codeshares (regional NSW + BNE)

Just noticed this - family in Orange will be very pleased indeed QF Club in TMW will get a bigger workout but noticed there are restrictions on baggage: Qantas to codeshare on Brindabella Airlines Qantas today announced it will codeshare on selected Brindabella Airlines services from 1...

Already Re-qualified for Platinum with my renew date March 2014. No what do I do???

Re: Already Re-qualified for Platinum with my renew date March 2014. No what do I do? I think you have answered your own question - you are silly to waste excess SC - I was in the opposite boat - I made Plat1 with QF but had 3 months before the next renewal - I shifted 75% of these weeks...

On board recognition - who gets any?

On a recently A330 (J) flight the stewardess asked me "Hello Sir, have you flown Virgin Australian before?" :!: hmmmm- surely they have some passenger documentation ?

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

Has the A330 PER-BNE J meal yesterday - entrée was some prawn thing - but the salad it was not as advised - it has preserved lemons rather than almonds - YUK. Wasn't the only one who gave some feedback. Main of duck and mushroom ragu was nice (not great) but was served 'luke' warm. Also not...

Reduced capacity between CBR and MEL?

Flew A330 PER-BNE Tuesday lunch time - 3/27(Old EY bird) in J - all upgrades I was advised. Can't be good either. But on topic of CBR-MEL - as someone who flew out of CBR a lot over the past 4 years I gave VA a wide berth in CBR as they were too difficult.

Qantas Platinum One to Qantas Platinum

Upintheair1987, Similar to you I fly mainly domestic Y and for the last 5 years would have had enough SC each year to be P1 (if it was in place earlier) - I reached LTG in my first 3.5 years of membership. Whilst I am on track to maintain P1 again this year it is likely to be my last due to me...

International style dining BNE to PER

Menu from SYD-PER last week - Smoked salmon, Sausages and Panna Cotta were great. Arancini ball was offered during drinks (along with the usual nuts - but agree would be much better in a bowl). (and to top at all off priority boarding worked a treat and luggage came out # 1 and 3 with no more...

International style dining BNE to PER

Can also confirm it is available in PER-SYD. Had the breakfast menu this morning in J on international config 332. Was VERY impressed with the food quality, presentation and variety. The staff seemed genuinely pleased to be offering it. Breakfast was much better than VA. If this is the...

    Darwin QF lounge hours

I flew from Darwin to Perth via KNX on QF codeshares (with AirNorth) on Saturday but alas the Qantas Club was closed - but I would have probably been the only person using it at the time so I can understand that. But for an $850 one way flight something would be nice...

Full Service [F&B] for Flights over 2¾ hours from APRIL

Re: Full Service [F&B] for Flights over 2.45 hours from APRIL Certainly the very recent flight I took to Cocos was not full service. In fact it was no service- they didn't have any food to purchase - but they did offer water..... the flight back there was a sandwich and water or juice...

Missing points hotel bookings and flights - very inconsistent and no reply emails

Welcome to my experience as well, especially the hotels. Have had a number not credit - website advises to wait 8 weeks (2 months) before putting a claim in - but then you only have 4 weeks to put it in otherwise - "sorry too late". I've still got multiple claims running at the moment. As...

Park Hyatt Melbourne - 2 night min stay for $520? good price?

Would disagree that the Grand Hyatt is superior to the Park Hyatt - having stayed at both a bit I prefer the PH as it has much more charm and sophistication and a quieter location than the almost sterile GH (accepting my view might be skewed as a Diamond member)

On board recognition - who gets any?

Recently took the PER-(PHE)-XCH-CCK with VA- obviously no J here but the crew (including the pilots) and ground crew were the worst I have experienced for years. The flight was besieged with issues - 2.5 hours late ( with no announcements until 1/2 an hour after boarding time, pilots turn up...

Best Hotel lounge regardless of brand?

Best lounge in Australia for me would be Park Hyatt Melbourne (favourite would be Park Hyatt Canberra) For O/S - the Imperial Club Waldorf Cavalieri Lounge in Rome is hard to beat

    QANTAS's domestic sale(s)

Some of the fares from PER are amazingly good value for QF and even converted to a standard YASA - PER-ADL-PER is ~37K QFF (excluding points earn! )- whilst a classic award is 36K + $90 and no points..... hmm difficult choice! :o
