Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

If it’s good for the customer experience, is it a bad thing? Some of the best companies in the world thrive on allowing individual employee innovation. I’ve heard that 3M historically allowed employees to work on projects to demonstrate new ideas/products. If the project is a success, the...

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

The trays on VA domestic business ended up developing a bit of a bubble/bulge, so the plates don’t sit flat on the tray. Ends up being a bit like playing that board game Trouble with “the pop-o-matic bubble” when you press the knife down to cut your food. I guess that was possibly from cheaper...

Major changes to Velocity Frequent Flyer announced 17/10/24

Yeah I take the changes to mean that you’ll be assessed on how many status credits you earned at your next review date, not necessarily how you earnt them (notwithstanding the new rule about how many you earnt individually), and that the number of sectors won’t be a factor considered at all.

VA and other seat maps not showing on ExpertFlyer

EK F & J working. SQ all classes working. (For some searches I have saved.)

VA and other seat maps not showing on ExpertFlyer

I feel naked not being able to look up seat maps for upcoming flights. It was the feature I used the most. When QF started not being available once check-in window opened, that was a real inconvenience. Not being able to see seat maps in advance at all is devastating 😭

Velocity introduces Forever Gold lifetime status tier

I logged into my Velocity account Tuesday night and submitted a query through the "Submit Feedback" option under Contact us and had a reply within 12 hours. (Not sure what all the shouting is about.) As per @Mattg, they told me the total points earned "for your flights with Virgin Australia"...

Velocity introduces Forever Gold lifetime status tier

Yeah, just found the T&C fine print on the updates page... it does exclude most of the items I had guessed about (flybuys, credit card bonuses etc.) but no mention of DSCs... I went back and did some more calcs removing more historical DSCs, and I might be closer to a bit under 12K than I was...

Major changes to Velocity Frequent Flyer announced 17/10/24

Overall, while it is always disappointing to have negative changes, I'm not too disappointed with these changes. I'm glad Eligible Sectors is no longer required. Lately, DSCs and Family pooling was easily getting my the SCs requal, but stretched to even get 8 flights annually lately, without a...

Velocity introduces Forever Gold lifetime status tier

I'm very hopeful to qualify for this... getting my spreadsheets out tonight, and doing some very conservative calculations, taking out Pooled SCs, Flybuys SCs, any Double/Triple SCs (just in case), other airline flights (only a couple on DL) and other bonuses, such as the Amex Velocity Platinum...

Wife's Velocity name on ticket as 'Mr' instead of Mrs - changing with QR

These days, surely the, "I identify as...", phrase is enough to cover this, yeah?

Crashing while Trying to book a Multi-City Business Class Classic Reward

I was recently trying the Multi-city tool, entering separate legs for CDG-DXB and DXB-BNE. Would show availability I wanted on each sector, and I could select each leg and it would price correctly as expected, but would bomb out (probably same numbers you're getting, but I can't remember). I...

    Which velocity card to get

Virgin Money VA Velocity High Flyer card is decent as a Visa. It's just gone up to $329 p.a. but you get a $129 credit to your Travel Bank each year. 1 pt per $ up to $8k per month, and they also just introduced bonus SCs on VA flights purchased on the card. Also get 2 pts/$ spent on VA. Only...

QF/EK: Add infant to booking - rules?

Doesn't give you the most comfortable feeling though to hear that it's not so smooth. "Sorry Freddie, you're going to have to stay here at the airport by yourself, as the Airline isn't going to let you come with Mummy and Daddy due to their systems not working properly..." Guess I'll just have...

QF/EK: Add infant to booking - rules?

Bumping this thread @ChrisW. to see how your experience with QF and EK went. I find myself in this situation now... booking for May 2025, baby not due until October 2024. I'm looking to book a Classic Reward booking on EK using QF points, so want to understand if it was easy enough to add...

    SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Why is making changes to Redemption bookings so hard with the call centre. As has been discussed previously, the agents keep saying that they cannot see the availability, as the online availbility is for "new bookings", and then you ask them to go check again, and eventually someone knows how...

    Virgin Australia lounge in Cairns

Was dropping family off at CNS today and asked the Manager at check-in if there was any word of any possibility of Domestic VA Lounge reopening, and it was a disappointed No. But did encourage submitting feedback to VA to request it, I guess in the hope of demonstrating demand/desire.

    SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Have I always misunderstood SQ Reward redemption ticket-validity period? I had points expiring in September 2023, so booked a reward First/Suites Advantage redemption SYD-SIN-LHR for September 2024, when the redemptions were released. I've always thought that the ticket validity was an...

    eSims, what is your experience.

I used a Tourist product from T-Mobile when I visited Florida in March 2019. Seems T-Mobile have shipped that product off to a side-kick company called Ultra Mobile. They still have a Tourist Plan for 3 weeks for $30 https://www.ultramobile.com/tourist/ Uses T-Mobiles network. Not sure if it...

Qantas hires consultants to improve on-time performance

The sadest part about this is that there are probably many staff within QF crying out to be heard how to improve what they do... but as usual, management have to pay consultants to hear things they won't listen to from their own staff. And unfortunately, proabably thousands of years of...
