Yes agree with these last sentinments. The taxi drivers all prefer short city rides as they are quick turnarounds and back out to the airport for another round. If they are lucky, they even get a pick up in city back to the airport (depending on time of day). SYD especially has a short fare...

The Uber drivers, afaik, get to wait in the Taxi/bus/overflow area near the entrance roundabout, so there’s no reason for them to not be near the airport.

With Norris Carter in charge of HBA, don’t expect too much which looks after the ppl. He’s reportedly an Ivory-Tower kind of leader (so was reported when he was in CNS).

There is a Cairns Taxi app you can use to book a taxi in Cairns (doesn’t really apply at the airport though with the rank being there) but you can track the taxi assigned arriving and gives an estimate of fare value. Used to be able to pay through app, but they disabled that feature and not sure...

Oh is that only a recent move? I only looked up on the weekend which counters they were at over the weekend for our trip in late April, and was surprised to see them at Counter A.

We are driving London to York to Edinburgh in May. Will be direct London to York, but might do some detours to Edinburgh. Can try to provide some feedback after if I remember and ours not too late.
