A new "high" on QF First [Denied sparkling water before departure from LAX]

Different carts - some sealed, some not.

Losing QFF points and calling in the media

So where does it end? - it's a slippery slope, next thing anyone with a sad story is claiming special treatment.

Losing QFF points and calling in the media

No, same as everyone else. I would much prefer corporations support causes through philanthropic means, that benefit many.

There are worse websites around. As airlines go, I'd say QF is a leader here..

Policy on changing TV channel in QF Business Lounge

I don't think we're that mis-aligned. If someone is watching the telly I'd probably not even want to change. If they are just sitting in front but say reading the paper, then I'd ask if they mind. If there is no-one watching in particular then I'd just change it. OK?

Policy on changing TV channel in QF Business Lounge

Depends on the situation, I have traveled at times when someone leaving their window shade up is inappropriate and rude..

If it needs closing then yes. If the cricket is already on, then no need to change it.

Policy on changing TV channel in QF Business Lounge

Agree, a mate of mine with an older Samsung phone with an IR transceiver does it all the time at our annual summer holiday destination. Last time he used it at the local club to change from boring local community news channel to the Big Bash and got a standing ovation from the patrons!

    Qantas "Comfort" Seating [EXST]

Thanks for sharing - very informative thread. Wondering if you buy a comfort seat on a DSC promo would you get 4x the normal SCs??

Now that I'm sick... no Qantas Club access

Maybe, maybe not - or maybe I already have. Assumptions are dangerous.

Double Status Credits (book by 5/2/18, fly 12/2/18 to 20/1/19)

So from what I have read; only one formal knock-back for a manual claim - but plenty of examples of manual DSCs being credited. If so, that knock-back looks like an outlier.

Now that I'm sick... no Qantas Club access

Zero difference. You could always pay for a J ticket. I really can't see why you need access to the lounge - I don't see any practical difference from public amenities.

Q-tags, only used by Qantas? How are they used?

In defence of the tags, I've never had a bag go missing (probably done at least 50 domestic flights with them) and they do make checking in bags very efficient.

Q-tags, only used by Qantas? How are they used?

The tags don't hold trip details though - more likely for the warning from Alliance is that the scanner may scan the incorrect tag and can't correlate the ID in the system, returning an error. You see this happen sometimes with Opal/Myki if you keep both cards near each other when tapping on/off.
