    Can I lose PS Status?

I don’t disagree with the outcome/rationale, merely the process. The customer interaction/experience/communication is confusing AND liable to leave people cardless, over this time period. Virgin Blue’s system, in this respect, is quite simply - better.

Virgin Blue could go bust: redeem Velocity points now?

Interesting analogy... although if DJ releases massive route reductions/cancellations (probably hitting Qld and possibly Tas the hardest?), I reckon it will be mere minutes until Tiger announces a new hub in South East Queensland! AND a huge domestic expansion (maybe even routes into Sydney from...

    Cancelled Jetstar NZ flight

Yes Possibly. Jetstar have done it for me in the past, on more than one occasion (I think it books into L class on QF, but you don't receive QFF points or status credits for those segments). I am interested to hear how you get on! (However, I am starting to suspect that JQ has some "backdoor...

    Can I lose PS Status?

This is the bug! Even if you are about to drop to SG, for a few days after the end of the month it appears that you are remaining WP. (As pointed out by Dave Nobel previously.) This system is quite annoying because it can leave you without a valid card for a few weeks after your anniversary...

    Distress

I have been distressed by QF before, different situation so maybe not the same "official term", but on my boarding pass there was an extra line (above where the FF data prints) that stated - DISRPT EX ...(information then followed about how QF had "distressed" me that day)

    Tiger refund policy

At Tiger, I wouldn't even bother with a refund, realistically there are two options - consider your ticket a "throw away" (I have done this on occasion) change your ticket online (I have also done this on occasion) Although Tiger recently enhanced their (online) change fee (now $20:evil:), it...

    Cancelled Jetstar NZ flight

I am going to assume that you did not purchase your trips as a single journey [ZQN-MEL] from the Qantas website (this still creates two separate PNRs; one from JQ and the other from QF, but I think they are linked somehow in the Qantas system). (If you did, then expecting a transfer to QF178 in...

    Simple Question....

My response is of course - Fluid, but at this point in time I am quite happy with Jetstar. (Followed by Qantas [let down by prices] & then Tiger [let down by in-flight service & baggage limits].)

    Seat Block Request

Ahhhh, so the key here it seems, is that the human representative is not allowed to block seats anymore, as presumably, the computer system has already decided where this could "most effectively" be done. (I have certainly benefitted in the past, from having blocked seats on QF services...

"Sydney business class rage over Qantas delay" - Daily Tele article

They don't even work on QF when they are functioning. ROFL, sorry I couldn't resist.

How bad is it. TA opinion.

I think they should price/market Star Class as an "Add-on" rather than at a set price. It offers 23% more leg room, and 17% more elbow room, in terms of add-on value?

Virgin Blue set to post loss / cancel routes

You know, they will probably start a new airline, a second brand, and it will soon go the way of Ted, and then the whole business will flop. My two cents worth, is, they need to get seating right – They are the only major domestic jet airline that doesn’t advise what type of aircraft you...

    Visiting the US?

Very sensible. Sounds like a similar system to our own ETA!

    Tiger pounces on Jetstar cutbacks

Interesting news item! I reckon Tiger had two possible paths to follow, given the shadowy global economic environment; crawl back into the den and hibernate OR attack aggressively... And now we know which path they will take. Also, from the CEO of SIA in the article - A most interesting...

Soon oneworld Explorers can be booked and ticketed online!

Presumably for people with credit cards, which during online verification, are noted as - issued to billing addresses OR by financial institutions (with card processing) based in the Philippines, Indonesia or Canada?

Jetstar cancels Sunshine Coast- Adelaide route

True, still selling seats that way, but not so set, anymore? The article quoted by the OP, might give an insight into a new business direction - I mean, spoken like a true network airline operator! [A real point to point operation would see each individual route as "the market", only a network...

Jetstar cancels Sunshine Coast- Adelaide route

I would imagine that it will not be too long before JQ moves to a network airline style operation at key hubs. (i.e. handling its own connections in "some way") It moved its check-in system to a network airline style, some time back - i.e. when it abandoned processing check-in queues, by flight...

    Exit Seat allocation

IMO, any airline that seats Economy in a B777 as 3x4x3 is to be avoided, (likewise an A330/340 as 3x3x3)... so say no to Emirates!

    Tiger pounces on Jetstar cutbacks

Virgin Blue is very friendly towards kids, tell them and their kids to fly DJ on the annual holiday. Baggage collection at MEL T4 is IMO suffice for an airline the size of TT. It is reasonably quick (remember AeroCare tend to offload the checked bags to the tarmac, then immediately load the...

Tiger to charge for checked baggage from today

This is a NEW and welcome addition, IMO, rudimentary is better than nothing.
