Question 6 in incoming passenger declaration form

I saw the sign for Border Security filming at BNE or SYD on 20/2 but didn't qualify for it. :) I hope they leave the word "food" in the foreign language versions - the show would collapse without it. There is a whole micro-economy dependent on that single word.

Question 6 in incoming passenger declaration form

If you have watched Border Security, you'll know all about the "food" question #6. They always point it out to errant pax. I just came back on Monday and could not see the word "food" on the form, in question 6 or elsewhere. We were carrying chocolate and had to declare it via the "dairy"...

    Former FF from MEL

Thanks for the BOM info. I got a SIM there at the airport back in 2003 and it took almost an hour because every SIM they tried was not working. On other trips I just let a local buy a SIM in their name on my behalf but I didn't have it until I reached Pune.

    Former FF from MEL

Just anything recent. I found some old threads here but they might not matter now e.g. lounge closed for renovations 3 years ago... :) Things of interest are: connection to Pune - any gotchas, phone SIM with data plan. I haven't even looked to see if there are any India-specific FF forums.

    Former FF from MEL

I don't visit FT now but still see their newsletters in my Hotmail account, so I am still "current" in a sense. :) Perhaps I should revisit, as it is good for US details. I have a MEL-DFW-MIA and a MIA-ATL-MIA coming up, then a MEL-LAX-JFK as well. Where's the good oil for BOM? I also expect...

Checking luggage question - flying int but going through domestic first

The only unknown can be the length of the queue at the intermediate airports. I have landed at SYD (QF) and the queue for interstate transfers and bus pass took almost half an hour.

    New Zealand Car Hire

I wish I had known about VroomVroomVroom.com earlier. Anyway, I got lucky by getting a UAL discount code for Hertz, which turned out to be $100 dearer on the UA site than by using the same CDP code on the Hertz website. So it's worth comparing with the company sites. For Hertz (4 days in March...

    European River Cruises

A colleague did the Scenic tour that the OP enquired and thoroughly enjoyed it. IIRC, it was all-inclusive except for one or two nights. It was in 2010. He said that one of the gotchas is that the "free airfare" deals are for the steerage rooms that don't have a balcony, so be sure to ask. Some...

    Former FF from MEL

Around 2000-2002 I was a UA FF and had reached 1K *G 3-4 times, but then many years of doing just one USA trip and almost no domestic, so I forgot about all the FF perks and lurks. Back then I hung out on an overseas FF forum and knew all the jargon, had meetups with other FFs and so on. I have...

Extend expiring miles - cheapest/simplest option?

Don't or won't? Anyway, I use things like hotel stays or car rentals to keep the United account alive as I have over 80k miles left in Mileage Plus. I have 840,000 lifetime miles but will not bother to try for the million miler status.
