Qantas plan to axe frequent flyer joining fee

ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

Since you're paying the fee by CC the fee should of course be subject to another fee of 0.67% etc etc etc :)

ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

My point was mate that you won't be paying tax for 2007-08 unless your taxable income was over ~14K. Anything under that the tax-free threshold + low income offset will cancel out and you pay zero tax, so don't qualify for the 900 rudd bribe.

ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

That 10K could be your problem john, the tax-free threshold plus the low-income tax offset is now so high that you effectively need to earn about 14K+ to actually have paid net tax by the time you settle up with the ATO. If you only earned 10K you'll get ALL your tax back and won't be...

Card Services Qantas Rewards Gold Card

I have this card. It's pretty good as far as I can tell. Just enrolled it in the QFF so I'll be using it for quite a while. I'd say the t&c's would be very similar to Citibank Gold.

    Credit File / System

There are so many incorrect perceptions about credit reporting in Australia. I remember a conversation with one stupid girl. "I have a AAA credit rating". Me: How the frak do you figure that one? "Because I never use my credit card for groceries or alcohol and the CC company can see...

Is > 45 day interest free really just a sham?

Hey John. I have a debt card as well which i'm revolving, but I also have a rewards card which I use for expenses and pay off in full every month. It's helpfull to do it this way so that at least some of my debt is interest free every month and it also gives me the one month buffer. You'll...

    Slow BPAY Payments to Citibank

I once had a bpay payment (not to citibank) that got completely lost and never made it to its destination, despite using correct details and the bank claiming it went through. Took freakin months to sort out.

Citibank Low % balance transfer and no yearly fee

Yeah I've fallen for this trap recently. My Citibank Clear card has reverted to the cash advance rate of an incredible 20.74%. At the time when I took out the BT the cash advance rate was always the same as the purchase rate, currently 12.49%. Citibank are totally raping me now, my fault but...

Citibank - Why are they so difficult to deal with?

I always log into the account online before calling so I can easily rattle off any answers to stupid questions. One day tho even that didn't help. "What was the amount of your last payment?" $850. "I'm sorry sir but that answer doesn't match my information, I am unable to continue this call...

0% on Balance Transfers - a free loan and a great opportunity? [merged]

The cheque is definitely the way to go. No positive balance and you get to keep the money in ING and earn some interest. BTW citi is the last place I'd want a positive balance :p

0% on Balance Transfers - a free loan and a great opportunity? [merged]

I'm not sure if Citi (or westpac) would want the balance transfer feature used like that, to go into a huge positive balance. What you could do that would make it look a bit more legit is first to do a balance transfer with the Citi account, using the 'Send me a cheque' feature. You could...

Qantas FF and Woolworths create new loyalty alliance

Re: Woolies everyday rewards cards soon to earn QFF points? This is a good point there are those with bad credit history etc who might like to get into the points-earning game, however I can't see the woolies earning potential being worth the $82 joining fee. Perhaps a former credit card user...
