    787 Fave J Seat?

First time in 787 business soon. I've got the choice of 1a or currently in 6f for NZ99 to Tokyo. Middle row is totally empty. But assuming its better hvae some glimpse of a window? I went for 6f as liked the idea of not having someone looking over my shoulder but now wondering might it be a bad...

Do Qantas keep notes on their frequent flyers?

From what I have been shown its just very similar to what you can edit in your FF profile...window seat preference, first name, certain allergies etc. They always know when I am about to connect back to NZ or further afield which is handy, but doenst seem to ahve the depth of many CRM systems...

    Bouquets for the FAs

Alberto, cabin manager on QF756 ADL-SYD yesterday. Great sense of humour which made all the announcements fun, took the time to really read everyone's boarding pass as he welcomed us on board, and gave me particular service as a platinum flyer. Lovely guy and a credit to Qantas.

    APAC Travel from NZ

Thanks for the epic reply! Yeah work pays PE and I've had way better food, service and seats on the NZ 777s and 787 than Qantas PE. NZ PE is fine for long haul and you're right I wouldnt have to worry as much about upgrades and points on QF to get into J. I'm also over the Sydney lounges...

    APAC Travel from NZ

Just became APAC sales manager and find myself now rethinking putting all my flying through Qantas. Was previously mainly focused on OZ, now find myself looking at a lot more travel to APAC and based in NZ. Just hit Platinum with Qantas though so feels a bit mad to now try get the same with Air...

Am I nuts...Accessing Syd First Lounge before Dom Flight

Lady on reception confirmed yesterday you need an International Pass to get into the lounge, she has never seen any domestic people sneak up there :) I also don't get what the fuss is about. I had dinner and a couple of drinks then went down to the Emirates lounge, far nicer! The First lounge...

Am I nuts...Accessing Syd First Lounge before Dom Flight

I am 100% sure I would have been able to get upstairs to departures after going through the Int transfer security as they never check for boarding passes, but after I saw the posts about needing an international boarding pass to get in the F Lounge I didnt bother trying. Glad I did as the...

Am I nuts...Accessing Syd First Lounge before Dom Flight

Usually when i transfer international I just go through security, present no ID or BP and i'm up the escaltor into International Departures within a few minutes. So I was thinking just go up as normal, head into F lounge, then leave terminal via passport and customs, grab qantas transfer bus...

Am I nuts...Accessing Syd First Lounge before Dom Flight

Am I crazy to even bother with this.... If I get into Syd from Wlg at 17:40, can I head upstairs via the international transfer security section, spend an hour in the F lounge to celebrate turning WP, then head back out and catch the Qantas transfer bus to dom terminal in time to make QF538's...

    Qantas Trans-Tasman Business Class

I nearly always sit in row 4 transtasman and as Gold always have a slightly lower level of welcome then the WPs, Hello, how are you thanks for flying, greet me by name etc. Today will be first flight as WP so expecting a express arrival card and a hug! OK maybe just the card. Last J flight...

    Ask The Pilot

If the weather permits, do you ever fly "tight" visual circuits of airports by hand in the A380? Like a much extended version of flying a circuit in a Cessna with only a few mile to final? Or would you always go out as far as FAF or join the ILS or fly out 5-10 miles before turning base? As...

"Will anyone please swap so this family can sit together?"

Yep this is me too. I must admit i had got very lucky, set an alert on EF and used points to upgrade in the first place to 1A. But the good feeling of helping the lady out was well worth swapping. Plus the wine. I don't know why but I always like to help the crew out as much as possible. I'm...
