I just tried to work out how much it would cost to buy 850,000 AA miles to book a First Class Seat on Etihad SYD/DME and even with a 40% bonus this would cost approx $20,000. Paying for the seat in cash is about $10,000. ??????. Could someone please check my figures and tell me where I went...

My nearest port of embarkation is Townsville and I refuse to buy Lounge membership till Virgin have a lounge there (or one I can access) as I cannot therefore use a lounge for at least for 50% of each trip. I therefore always fly Qantas or Jetstar out of Townsville so I can use the Qantas Club...

How about Vanuatu? Only about a 3 hr flight. It's cheap, safe and beautiful! Don't know about reward stuff but could check out Virgin flights.
