    Credit card options for retirees

I wonder why people worry about the CC limit. As a retiree I have two cards with very low limits at $6,000 each. If I need to spend say $20k on something like a trip, then I transfer that amount into my CC, so I can still use the card, but using my own money, it has never been a problem. The...

    Inflight theft

With the carousel, I am always amazed at the number of times a single bag is doing the rounds and never being collected by anyone, would be very easy for a thief to take

    The Stocard App

My cards switched from Stocard to Klarma a few weeks ago, and although not as good looking as Stocard, it works fine and brings up the barcodes when I need them.

Emirates Cancels Singapore to Melbourne Flights from 30/3/25

Also had flights in J on 31st March, one day out! Had booked reward seats, and have now requested return of points (already returned) and a full refund, which will occur in 7-10 days. Decided to take a refund and have rebooked with Singapore airlines. Options with Qantas too limited.

Emirates Cancels Singapore to Melbourne Flights from 30/3/25

I have a flight on Emirates MEL-SIN 31st March booked in J on QF points. Thought I would ring QF customer service and see what they say. After consultation with a supervisor was told that Qantas would offer alternative flights, in Business as booked, or a refund if not suitable. Not sure if I...

    Cook Islands tips & recommendations

We went to Cooks a few years ago and loved it. A bit less developed than Fiji but the people are just as friendly. Had a great package from Luxury Escapes for Pacific Resorts on Rara and Autaki, which is well worth a visit. Would certainly recommend a visit to anyone.

Qantas to introduce hot meals and hot snacks on most domestic flights, extends tea and coffee service

On a flight MEL-BNE we were offered sausage rolls as a snack, but NO sauce! Sauce was only available if u wanted the Vegetarian version, WTF! Is this an example of ridiculous cost cutting or what, not what I expect from a so called "full service airline". Qantas fail!

Pets in the Cabin - Coming soon on Virgin Australia

Has anyone considered the issue of an emergency evacuation of the aircraft? We are all told to leave personal belongings behind in the event of an emergency, so what happens with the family pet, can you really imagine the owner leaving the family pet behind? Then the time to get the cage out and...

10,000 Woolworths rewards points for a travel insurance policy.

Tried today, best offer was 5000 points, but prices quoted were rediculous, so a waste of time for me.

    Credit card options for retirees

Everyone to their own, but having a points earning cc for my normal spend has allowed us to travel overseas multiple times in Business Class comfort, which has saved us a lot of money if tickets were purchased.

    Credit card options for retirees

It is certainly easier to get a cc before retirement, so a wise move. Assets seem to be totally ignored, it's all about income to your account The issue of ability to repay within 3 years is the Government requirement that is apparently causing problems with the banks having issues with giving...

    Credit card options for retirees

Yes I received bonus points as I had not had a Westpac card previously. I only received a $6k limit but that doesn't worry me as it is easy to transfer 5 or 10k into the account if I have a big spend coming up.

    Credit card options for retirees

My recent experience as a retiree of 13 years with substantial super assets, cash and property. Thought I would apply for a new points earning cc with a bank. So applied online with a couple of banks, immediate rejection by the computer on one, and a few days another rejection after a request...

    Express Path. Is it operating?

Slightly off topic, but I cannot understand why you have to get a ticket from a kiosk before u go through the E gates to exit the international terminal. As you leave Australia, you only have to scan your passport to get through the Egate, so why can't the same system work on entry?

    Express Path. Is it operating?

Flew from MEL international recently and used my old Express Pass cards to enter the marked path. However get to Passport Control and have to line up with everyone else, including pilots and cabin crew, who also get no priority, bit of a joke!

    Lounge Access Help Desk

Hi, we are flying Business on Virgin MEL-NAN soon. Wondering if there is any change to lounge access in Melbourne T2 for Virgin? If not is there any paid access to the lounges that might be worth the money, or just give it a miss. Thank you.

    Qantas Removing Jetstar Flights

Tend to agree. I often compare Qantas with Jetstar on flights, and often find that a Qantas booked flight for Jetstar is cheaper when you have to add on luggage costs with Jetstar.
