Well that's the end of QF Intl - RIP - 22MAY12.

After today's news the whole thing is even more of a joke...and Lesley Grant as head of Loyatly? That is really, really scary. She is a very much loathed woman from her days at Air NZ and then as head of cabin crew at QF. We can expect a program that already was difficult to become impossible.

QF for international flights is largely irrelavant for the most part given their network is so small - obviously on the SYD-LAX product wise in First and Business they are great but apart from that I can really fly any oneworld partner airline to anywhere else with more frequency and choice.

I think the CX seat is the same as the new US Airways Envoy Class...the seat manfucaturer lists it as a First Class product. I'm really looking forward to trying it.

That sounds like a great event amaroo...it would seem that they must have "tiers within tiers" for P1 then...I am SYD based and P1 but didn't get any invite... :-( Nor any P1 special events invite... Enjoy your night...

simongr I really think you've hit the nail on the head with that statement...the worst thing a company can do is promise something and then fail to deliver...especially to their top tier clients. All it does is alienate them and direct them to the competitors. This is exactly what has happened...

Have to agree with a lot of you guys...P1 has been an whole lot of marketing BS and empty promises...when you really break it down what do you really get over and above Plat? Considering you need to fly 3 x over the standard requal rate it's just not worth it. I have really seen nothing...

The point is not so much whether SST find the seat - looking at my examples of First Class - the one to LAX was requested the afternoon before travel for the QF107 which had 14 seats available for sale - F and A inventory wide open. It was rejected by the "biz analyst" said no - so what QF are...
