    Government travel with DJ

I'd be happy if our pollies were on here finding the most efficient way of using points/JASA/comp upgrades etc., however it seems they are either funding J flights from public funds, or receiving upgrades and bumping regular paying customers back to Y.

    Government travel with DJ

What a terrible time when the people we elect to represent our needs, wants and struggles with everyday issues only travel in J, lounge in an intimate lounge for no cost and so on.

    Changing Over

Is all this just because you missed out on some targeted offers? I'm a BIS Platinum and didn't get any special SC offers this year too. Do I care? Why would I, if Virgin wants to target other customers more than so be it. I guess we have 3 choices though: 1. Accept it and be happy 2. Not...

Virgin cancels anytime access - they almost had me

The irony being the OPs admission that he often used ATA on unrelated (ie. non-flying) business, when he wasn't using DJ anyway... I think DJ handled it all poorly, but think that the number of people who used ATA and are more than insignificantly disadvantaged is small enough for DJ not to care.

Distraught pensioner correctly 'offloaded' by Virgin

God Gate staff **** me sometimes... Yesterday in the lounge waiting for our flight at 1pm, heard a few different calls for boarding for other flights but not for ours (can confirm with Wife and other groups sitting near us), decide to wander to the gate anyway and deal with lining up in a...

The cost of flights between Perth and the Pilbara

My point is where do you draw the line? Residents of Hamilton Island vs Tourism Industry Residents of Adelaide vs Festivals etc.

The cost of flights between Perth and the Pilbara

I don't see how that is fair at all really, I am a resident of Sydney, the flights from Syd-Mel are obviously fare-affected due to the amount of business travel between the 2 cities. Can I get cheaper flights SYD-MEL because of that? Don't think so.

The cost of flights between Perth and the Pilbara

Why should a privately owned company sacrifice their own profits just to be nice to local residents who choose to live in a certain location?

The cost of flights between Perth and the Pilbara

I wouldn't be happy but it doesn't make it unfair. Since when have airfares ever been decided by distance though? Like almost all products, services and commodities, they are affected by supply & demand. You think you are being unfairly treated because they are lumping you in the same category...

The cost of flights between Perth and the Pilbara

Wah wah I want something for cheap because I'm entitled to it. +1 to airlines are a business and exist to make a profit. Dont like it? Fly a cheaper airline. There isn't one? Start up an airline charging 1/4 of QF/VA and see how much money you make.

Virgin Australia A330 pulled from MEL-SYD daily?

I honestly don't believe the ex-EK planes are that much worse than the new A330's. I value service, performance and food/wine higher than the hard product. The seats in the ex-EK birds are acceptable, the only major gripe is with the looping IFE... hopefully they upgrade those to RED.

    Thinking of making the switch...

A better analogy might be that Qantas are a fine dining restaurant, and Virgin is a local pub. Only problem is that all the fine dining restaurants are going bankrupt and local pubs are doing a roaring trade.

Virgin Australia A330 pulled from MEL-SYD daily?

Advertise != indicate. I have no doubt you should be able to get a refund if you push hard enough to the right people, but I don't think it's that surprising that the call centre staff couldn't understand why someone would be annoyed and want a refund over a plane substitution. I would think...

Virgin Australia A330 pulled from MEL-SYD daily?

The problem is that they aren't advertising 'Come and experience an A330' they advertise a flight to Perth and back, which they are still delivering.

    Thinking of making the switch...

Here's a thought... try booking Virgin, then if he likes it he could book some more. Then after enough bookings he might get Silver/Gold/Platinum.
