The new ones will be 2-2-2 whereas the old will show up as 2-3-2. I find row 2 to be better than row 1 on the new birds as you get more storage space and the screens are at a better angle. Any less leg room is negligible unless you are 7+ feet tall.

I am pretty sure if it was any Australian airline (or any airline flying between 2 Australian destinations) that broadcast an emergency code that there would be a similar level of interest.
