Melbourne University now a "government body" and only earns 1/2 point per dollar.

Have you tried using postbillpay.com.au and PayPal (set to AMEX)? Works for me for power/gas bills that either don't do AMEX or would otherwise get 0.5ppd. I guess they could wise up if you put a semesters worth of uni fees, though..

    Qantas ff account hacked

I assume you are referring to Have I Been Pwned? Basically, if a large website has been hacked, the (leaked) account details for its users often end up on the black market (for not a lot of money, I might add). Similar things have been happening with credit card numbers for a long time. The...

    Qantas ff account hacked

You don't even need to wait for someone to send an email. If their device isn't configured to use encrypted mailbox sessions (i.e when using 'POP' or 'IMAP' - common for internet provider email accounts), capturing passwords is trivial. A smartphone might check for new email every time it...

Air NZ looking to sell some/all of stake in VA

Air NZ looking to sell some/all of stake in VA

From memory, they (ANZ) were driven to do this by the private equity firm that owned the majority of shares after privatisation, presumably they wanted to force SQ to pay more for a stake in the combined group. Came unstuck in part due to the NZ government not budging on the foreign ownership...

    Obtaining Silver?

There isn't much benefit to Silver, shoot for Gold instead! I would suggest SQ Flexi savers are a better SC/$ earner, look for MEL-SIN-HKG etc. You would need to do domestic VA runs to make up the eligible sectors, but that is better than paying the VA tax on the same flights.

Agoda hotel booking and Velocity Frequent Flyer, a + from me...

Heads up - make sure the Agoda booking is in the exact name as on your Velocity account, otherwise the points won't get credited (and you won't get any notifications about it) I managed to get VFF to retro claim my last booking but they had to temporarily rename my account to do it (I go by my...

    Flexi Saver on SQ

They sure do, I got 1594 points + 40SC from doing SIN-HKG in SQ Flexi Saver last month.
