ACCC having a look at competition or lack of it

Trip to the USA exPER..... looking for Prem Y.... PER-DPS stop DPS-SYD-LAX with AA tranPacific.... less than half the price of QF PER-SYD-LAX Accepted that PER-DPS will be a challenge but it is only 3.5 hours and MAX JQ fares earn a lot of QF SC. I suspect those AA fares are long gone...

    Qantas partnership with BP

WA now has a couple of new discount fuel chains. These new entrants are on offer with 12 cents a liter less expensive for diesel than BP. Perhaps this means it would have to be a very special offer to be considered? RON 98 - maybe once in a while since the difference there is 4 to 6 cents a...

What's your prediction on the Australian Dollar?

Perhaps Parliament needs to tell the RBA that the effects of home mortgage rates needs to be taken into account in considering the sources of inflation? And lower AU$$ rates means that it is more expensive to buy imported goods. Or is that thinking too much wandering Fred

Best RTW business class fares from Perth

Depends on your definition of best.... The cheapest fares will all require a one way ticket to another RTW starting point. In the case of One World, the closest discounted starting point would be Japan (with a ticket that does allow passing through Australia) ex Japan a DONE4 is US$5589 PLUS...

    Compensation scheme coming to Australia?

Under the European rules I believe a 3 hour delay is required before the passenger is eligible for paid compensation. So the current flight planning policies SYD/CBR/MEL would unlikely to change. Just how you do your wandering Fred

    International arrival experience PER T3?

AFAIK there is a free bus from the Redcliffe train station to T3/4. Which is likely more convenient than the long walk (elevated and covered) from the Airport train station to the international terminal. Will still be awhile before I see either in my wandering Fred

    Fixing QF Lifetime Status

Changes in the basic FF programs over the last ten years have influenced flight choices (and where they were credited). Thus I have ended up with Life Time one world Ruby with both AA and QF (in that order with a bit of CX status flying in between). Pity none of the programs now support the...

Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

Being frugal in my wandering (OK down and out cheap) and wanting to have a trip to the USA later in the year (NOT in the Y cabin). and given Perth is far enough west to consider alternatives, I consulted the normal suspected intermediate departure points for premium economy fares. In the end I...
