QF not honouring points for QR flights

How long ago did you send the Boarding Passes in? Were the 'No Record Of Travel' annotations already there? In my own experience, No Record Of Travel is what comes back quite often from the automated system. It is usually removed when someone manually processes the Boarding Passes.

Afternoon flights PER - MEL on 24 December???

Might happen, QF have a flight around 3pm, but if it is not showing up, then perhaps sold out. With travel times and time differences, there's not usually much leaving for the east after 5:30 pm until the red eyes leave.

Ways to tell if you have pre-paid your stay?

Usually buried away somewhere, they will say that the deposit on Advance Purchase is equal to the cost of the full stay. It's usually sometime between booking and arriving at the hotel. Whenever their reservations people get to it really.

Two reasons I can't take Virgin & Velocity seriously

Perhaps, but if they spend 50c on a proper muffin, rather than 20c on the tiniest mini muffin they could find, we probably wouldn't be having this conversation.

MH has cancelled a route, giving crazy alternative

What do MH themselves have to say? I heard than refunds were on the table, as were options to use a Qantas domestic flight from Darwin to another port, such as Perth to connect to an MH service.

Is this acceptable (to put your shoes on the couch in the lounge?)

No idea. I am sure if you plotted the 'yes' and 'no' contingents with age, you would get two overlapping bell curves. The group that says it is ok will have an average lower than the no group. So says my unscientific thoughts on it.

Two reasons I can't take Virgin & Velocity seriously

I disagree. I think VA is mostly full service, but there are a few really irritating things where they just haven't quite got it right. Some of those niggles shouldn't cost squillions to fix (soft drink, proper snack), and would drive satisfaction up. Other things are more difficult (like lounges),

Is this acceptable (to put your shoes on the couch in the lounge?)

Most humans don't drag their bum along the ground, and in most cases bums are covered by clothing. Feet or shoes pick up whatever is on the ground..... Having said that, I think it is just a bad look - but there are people that think it is ok (generally younger), and people that think it is...

Pay with points and money slider

For me it appears after I have selected the rate, and entered the guest information. So toward the end of the process where you would find the payment information.

Pay with points and money slider

From what I have seen it varies a bit, but generally the number of points increases with prices. The value of a point varies within some limits. Probably someone needs to play with the slider more to figure it all out.

    Question re points and skybus

A return trip is 250 points, and a one way trip is 100 points. There was a double points offer early in the year.

Two reasons I can't take Virgin & Velocity seriously

Snacks are a joke. Severe cost control. Last flight was a Gumnut Oatmeal Cookie. I checked, a box of 100 is less that $20.00.

Qantas international business lounge Sydney attitude.

Staff get so many trie ons, and people not accepting that they don't have access. I've seen it many, many times. Anyway, not every interaction is going to be perfect. Personally, I just brush these things off and think the agent is having a bad hair day and move on. All seems a bit precious to me.

    Seriously Disappointed with Qantas

In airline terms, compassionate reasons are generally around short notice emergency situations, such as getting to a death or critically ill person. What you were after was an exemption on medical grounds. The problem is, people can come up with all sorts of reasons why their case is 'special'...
