    Upcoming Qantas Frequent Flyer Changes

Welcome to AFF willjd. Sorry, but I disagree with your statement. Although living in Western NSW, and only able to travel during school holidays, I was able to make silver using some of the suggestions that come up from time to time in this group. Since retiring, I've now made gold, again...

    Whats happened with Tiger

Apparently, Tiger Airways is subsidiary of Tiger Airways Holdings, which is partially owned by Singapore Airlines. Should the grounding make the Oz flying public concerned about Qantas maybe using off shore engineers and flight crews? Or, is it more a problem with Tiger's management?

Qantas Customer Service - great experience.

Yes, I had NGCI tags. Also, I'm a QP member, so that may have helped. And - I was very polite, smiling etc when I made my request - was quite ready to be told "No". I would think that the NGCI tags (which have RFID tags embedded) would allow them to scan over the pile of bags, looking for my...

Qantas Customer Service - great experience.

I'll also join in on this thread. Last night, Qantas were able to move my bag from a flight I had already checked in on to an earlier flight. And this was within 30 minutes of the earlier plane leaving. By the time I got to the new lounge, there was a message to save it had been moved. I was...

QF Inflight Meal Enhancement - RIP Bread Roll

I flew Y SYD- CNS on Thursday, back Monday, and had dinner each way. Bread rolls with both meals - although the first needed a jackhammer to open it.

I'm not sure how Q can sell "Biz class seat being sold as Y+" or "Y+ seats sold as economy". Can you enlighten me, please. Many thanks

Y+ or J upgrade on points

I'm flying SYD-DFW in September returning October WHY both ways and have received one of the upgrade offers. At present, the offer is Y+ or J both ways. I've applied to upgrade to J but wondering about the Y+ upgrade. Is there much difference between WHY and Y+ on long haul? Should I also...

    Qantas comes up trumps!

A few months ago, Qantas sent me one of those "double your status points" emails, which I'm busy using. Today, they've just allowed me to request an upgrade of a QF discount Y flight Sydney / Dallas to Business!!! Had to double check that my eyes weren't deceiving me. Of course, it's not...

The rise of the Bogan traveller

Jodie Bache-McLean's tips on airport etiquette Consider those behind you before you push your seat back. For instance, are they eating? I wish that someone had told this to the guy in Business Class recently when I flew Melbourne / Brisbane. He sat down, pushed his seat way back and it...

    Sticky: Ask the Bogan

Love the thread!:lol::lol: Of course, if you come from Nyngan (on the Bogan River), then you will have "I'm a Bogan and proud of it" displayed everywhere including car stickers, T-shirts, stubby holders and what ever. When I was teaching there, I often wondered if the kids really...

SYD to LAX in J - NAD Air Pacific or direct QF - Price difference worth it?

If you look at the FJ website, and choose to fly x NAN, some good fares to USA are displayed eg NAN-JFK or NAN-ATL for just over FJD$4400 return. The USA airlines used seem to be either AA or US My interpretation of the QF SC site is that SC and points only for the NAN-LAX sector.

SYD to LAX in J - NAD Air Pacific or direct QF - Price difference worth it?

Glad to hear that you've taken the NAN option - I plan to do the same next year. One thing to consider in NAN is where you stay. I was there recently and the road to the Denaru resorts is absolutely appalling (to say the least). If you go there, then plan to travel airport to Denaru return...

    AA/Qantas flight in USA

I recently booked Y - SYD-ATL returning x JFK with a stop over in LAX. As I particularly wanted to be on QF108, I booked via telephone sales. They told me that if I booked all internal USA flights via Qantas, then I would be entitled to Q's international baggage allowance of 2 bags...

    Booking QF107 LAX-JFK

For what it's worth, I called QF to book QF108 (JFK-LAX), with a break in LAX then onto SYD. They charged me $60 booking fee, and refused to waive it even though I couldn't book online. Was told that Qantas can only book PAX on QF108 if they are later proceeding to Australia, so it must be...
