You contact the actual Qantas page through FB Messenger. It starts with a bot, but you can click a "Talk to a person" or similar button. It is slow (ie. they can take 6-12 hours to respond), but definitely works.

Yep, I was thinking (c) we don't like customers having access to this pertinent, real-time information that allows them to have up-to-date knowledge and achieve better outcomes, so we will kill almost all of the functionality our own app (given it is seemingly made by some part of Amadeus).

I think the consensus is that it is less flexible - you still have book through the Amex travel site, but you also now have to spend over the amount of your (would-be) credit in a single booking. I did read the terms, but haven't used a travel credit yet under the new system so was unsure on...

Given that the 'travel credit' on Amex cards is now more of a cashback after spend, is everyone's reading that we can just spend the $5/600 and then get the two separate cashbacks afterwards?

I think @Fausaken is referring to bonus points QF is/was giving out for taking out your first QFF credit card, in addition to any bonus points which may have been received from the bank. I still don't know the answer, but it is a slightly different situation to the normal 'wait for all points...

Yep, I did mine on FJ flights booked through QF.

QF did this to a bunch of flights last year when they changed the MCT for Syd and (I think) all flights through there had to be re-validated. Could it be something like that?

Pretty sure there was a J seat or two showing on SFO-SYD last week around 2-4 July, but appears to be gone now. Can still get 4 July on FJ via NAN for the same price if that floats your boat/plane.

My wife is gold, and her account can definitely still see award seats on QF metal released at 353 days. What class/route are you looking at? They don't necessarily release award seats on all flights, so it could just be that they haven't released any on your route.

Have you tried looking at earlier dates (say March instead of June) to check if the flights are available then? I had a quite similar issue the other day and there was flights on the routes I was looking at earlier, so figured it was just a timing thing (ie. that they hadn't released AS seats...
