I am looking at something similar, but from reading this thread I believe if you go through AC/Aeroplan (and keep the card open and pay annual fee again next year) you get 50K/*G status to the end of the calendar year in which your status expires - so should be end of 2025?

Anyone who did this, is your Hertz account actually showing the new status yet? I did it more than 72 hours ago and status hasn't changed from normal 5 star.

Damn I was probably lucky I didn't get arrested in the US about 18 months ago! I returned a Hertz car (on time) to a hotel/convention centre parking lot in Orlando where they had a rental counter and did a key drop as counter was closed that day before flying up to DC. Then noticed the next...

UA also flys SYD<->IAH, but it is seasonal and finishes in late March so you may be able to just catch it there? Gets you closer to the east coast and a ~2.5hr flight in Y is a lot better than a ~5hr one IMHO if it comes to that.

Looks like a VS benefit (see here). For Amex Plat you don't get passes, you just show your boarding pass and card.

Another data point: Plat Charge, had the card for 2 years with maybe $3-4k spend per month, annual fee charged last week. Called around 3pm AEDT today, sounded like it was answered in the Philippines. Selected 'Card cancellations' from the voice menu, and advised operator I wanted to cancel...

Did you need to do anything special to get this? I have had the NAB Qantas card for about 2 months and received the bonus points, and thinking of changing it over to the Rewards card because of the above changes (and potentially getting the bonus Rewards points). Do you mean for the QF points...

For this issue, just say 'I want to book a reward flight' or 'I want to add flights to an existing booking'. You don't need the phone agent to know what an OWA is, as the system does, and it will automatically apply the cap if the booking meets the criteria. To be fair though, a lot of those...

I think there was some discussion in another thread (presumably in the Singapore Airlines sub-forum) that SQ now lets you add one number to a booking for status eligibility and a separate number for points earn? Not quite certain on exact details.

Had the exact same thing happen to us coming off a delayed QF11 about a year and a half ago - missed J connection to MCO, ended up on Delta in economy at the back of the bus where our row was literally across the aisle from the toilet/s. Was a long ~5 hours.
