It might be code for corporates and govt departments cutting back till they see what the outcome is

App that holds all upcoming flight details

Tripit for me as well. Paid version but not pro here. Same arrangement as aussiel with a separate Gmail account for itineraries. Email thing also works with hotel and tour bookings. Never really had a problem with it ( 6years +) and works off-line on my phone

Syd Akl return over on LAN back On Emirates in Y

Thanks for the TR. As far as class of travel goes I'm probably more interested in the info that makes economy travel more enjoyable as that's where a bit of knowledge can really make a real difference. IMHO in most cases you really have to be trying to have an unpleasant trip in business or...

Lower earn due to upgrade and Lack of Dariy Free meals

My apologies then. Andy probably has your answer on the points. My partner's (milk intolerance) strategy with meals now to just take the normal meal and not eat any suspect bits. She finds the special meals from lots of outposts pretty inedible anyway.

Why does Qantas persist with 747-400 thirty years plus rust buckets.

I was hoping the 30 years old bit was true so I could wear my purple bodyshirt one last time :)

Why does Qantas persist with 747-400 thirty years plus rust buckets.

Nice to hear that. We are QF Haneda to Sydney in early July and the ERs seem to operate that route quite regularly. I was hoping to luck it out on the day as I've never been on one.

    Smoke alarm sensitivity

You should change to a new brand if that one is causing a stink

How long should I expect the wait for Qantas to answer my call?

I don't like to wait so I sympathise. Called 4 or 5 times lately. I've been offered call backs everytime. All worked and only a few minutes wait anyway.

    Emirates Business class AKL-SYD

Looks like you had a good flight. We were on that flight I'd reckon. Unusual that they offloaded a passenger before leaving Auckland for "medical reasons"

Rolling Border Security strikes up to/inc April 7th

I'm on the working group. We are having an urgent workshop in June to prepare a draft agenda for the conference ;)

    Ask The Pilot

I was on a Dash 8 taxiing after landing at Sydney that made a sudden stop (emergency?) to avoid a catering truck that crossed in front near t3. I was amazed how quickly the plane stopped. I'd reckon that an unbelted passenger would have been thrown against the seat in front.

    General Train Discussion

We did the Caledonian sleeper London to fort William late last year. Lounge car with table or couch service was a great experience. They had a good selection of drinks (scotch) and food. Cabins and beds were tight but comfortable. I enjoyed the movement of the carriage but my wife was less...

QF pax pets. what's your recent experience?

At least she doesn't have to get her temperature taken at the terminal. I'm sure that always gives them a fright. Clazman it is more expensive than a cheap human ticket but cheaper than the most flexible fare. You pay for the container separately if you don't have your own iata approved one

QF pax pets. what's your recent experience?

We've checked both cats and dogs as freight to travel with us and on their own. Can be a bit complicated to set up as you may need to book the crate separately. Jetpets is one of the companies I recall. On the day though it all works really well. You need to drop them off at the freight terminal...

    Funnest thing seen in airport/flight

This might be more surreal than funny but I've had many laughs about it in the years since. About 10 years ago arrived in Sydney and ducked into the men's toilets at the western end of the T2 arrivals terminal. Bloke came in right after me and stood adjacent to me at the urinal. He made a rather...

    Goodbye Qantas

A frustrating situation I bet. Even the plush surroundings of the Canberra lounge don't compensate for waiting around when you can see an alternative. As an aside those Dash 8 flights to and from Canberra tend to have WP+s one up in those first 10-12 rows (probably on flex tickets) so I bet...

    Good TV/webseries for foodie travellers

One of my favourites that I don't see mentioned very often is Italy unpacked by Giorgio Locatelli and Andrew Graham-dixon. It's both food and art and there are 2 series. The ragu alla bolognese recipe from that has become a regular
