I know it is not answering your question but the area around the Hilton is a bit of a dead zone after hours and transport is not great. We never stay there these days. I'd investigate the package option despite your preference. Depending on the reseller, they can be quite flexible on options and it is a very popular event. We've done both and probably lean towards partial packages these days.
