    Australian Housing Affordability Discussion

You lost me when you set contribution = to deaths. I have friends in those numbers mate. My intent is not to disparaged the service of other wars and I sledge boomers for stereotyping a generation they asked to fight (which is just silly).

    Australian Housing Affordability Discussion

I don't have any entitlements: Working age on income support ^ Working age is defined as the population aged sixteen to sixty-four years. Source: Calculated from Department of Social Services, Income Support Customers, A Statistical Overview, various years; Department of Social Services, DSS...

    Australian Housing Affordability Discussion

Come on mate. Those stereotypes don't add up. The facts on Australian housing affordability I am both a millennial and a home owner. I just won't invest in Sydney because the market is crazy. I am also a very lucky millennial who studied my backside off and got into a good field (I paid for it...

Int. Lounge Acess Changes from Nov. 1 2016

Its a small one but the only issue I have with the SQ lounges is that you feel like you are in Singapore when you are in them. When I am flying to Singapore from an Australian city, it just seems to put me in the ''in transit'' mindset earlier than I would otherwise like. The good thing about...

Qantas Club Dress Standards...Stubbies, singlet and thongs....What the???

I honestly don't see the big deal here. Just follow the dress standards. They're not exactly asking for black tie from people.

    Australian Housing Affordability Discussion

Absolutely no interest in buying property in Sydney at the moment. Just too expensive and returns are not worth the risk. Even though I can afford it I am not giving some boomer a windfall for their retirement that will cost me 15 years to pay off. Happy to rent in Sydney (200m from where I...

    Take away food from lounge

IC Tokyo Bay called my room to correct some train information they had given me. My wife was not feeling well and when the concierge worked it out she organised meals from the lounge. Different staff would bring her complimentary lounge food in bento boxes during my meetings.

    Adelaide IC

Stayed there a number of times. I can't say I have ever encountered this. Club lounge in IC Adelaide is a bit of a snooze. For some reason they put it at the top of the hotel but there is no view.

    'Full' catering not assured

This happens regularly. When you shift to a different flight on short notice, they do try and get you food and the vast majority of times I get to eat. They cover themselves by saying you might not get a meal but when you change bookings they generally make every effort to get you food...

    Velocity family pooling

Pretty much. This is the reason VA lounge passes have been made electronic and you can't be made Royal Ambassador with IHG through referral anymore. Some chap always has to take it too far. Its too bad about the electronic passes, it would be great if they could be used by the person giving...

    Ridiculous carry on baggage

Flew from Beijing to Pyongyang. Every person on the plane had as much contraband as they could carry. One guy had a large box of empty starbucks cups and was very pleased with himself.

Shop to fly faster with Velocity and flybuys

The status credits are a nice touch.

    'Full' catering not assured

You weren't denied a meal, you just didn't get to eat the crew's dinner. When you upgrade late in the lounge they can't always arrange the additional catering for you.

Thoughts ? VA in its desire to become a business airline forgot economy

I find the quality of service in Y very good. I have also noticed extra effort lately to acknowledge status in the Y cabin. When flying domestic in Y the crew are at least as nice as the crew on Singapore Airlines. As for not everything being free onboard, it might not be a popular view but I...

Some Accounts suspended for "potentially" dodgy points transfers

I don't think this is particularly controversial. They probably allowed a bit of it but people love to go too far and ruin it. I get the feeling that those complaining the loudest might have something they are worried about.

    IC Ambassador worth it?

I used Ambassador perks fairly regularly for personal travel. However, very tempted to change to Hilton or Accor permanently. I just hit Spire Elite with IHG and there is really nothing of value to it (aside from the points earn). IC/IHG club perks aren't as competitive as they used to be. It...

Program Update: Virgin Australia’s Fares For You

This might be controversial but I think the new earn tables for SC are pretty generous.

    IHG Rewards Account HACKED

As long as people keep checking their accounts while connecting to airport/hotel wifi they are pretty much automatically endangering their accounts. It does not matter if you are using a 4 digit point of a 25 letter passphrase, if you sending it in the clear, almost anyone can read it*. *I work...

Seating on SQ metal with a VA booking

Would you mind explaining the process behind this? I assume it involves putting my Velocity number in with the booking. I got stung doing this with MAS back when I flew with Qantas. Would be great if I could book direct through SQ as I really want to upgrade overnight legs when I am on holiday.

Amex Lounge passes - just turn up?

I found it to be pretty nice for a change of pace or if you have nothing else.
