I believe that Alaska was possibly looking at Bonza and that is fuelling the speculation they want VA.
Talking to a few people and seeing the media reports these last few days, I understand they are the front runners at this time.
Bit the bullet and moved my flight forwards a day for next week. No issues this week probably means next week will be a cluster f&$&@.
And with A380 issues and QANTAS - when it rains, it pours.
Worse things than a day in LA I guess.
QF11 either takes off within an hour of the scheduled departure or is cancelled/delayed more than 12 hours.
A 20-30% chance of the later happening at this stage it seems.
I am watching like a hawk for any J availability on AA for the day of or before my trip.
I would rather pay an extra night of accommodation in LAX than risk it with QF.
A bit of topic but ultimately Joyce did what needed to be done.
Unfortunately they couldn’t have competitive fares at their previous cost base (due to the huge increase of competition from largely government backed airlines).
Another day and another QF11 delay.
This route is proving brutal. 3 delays a week on both legs at a minimum it seems.
That new schedule isn’t working very well for them.
JFK to SYD in PE or JFK to LAX in Y (with a stopover at DFW) and then LAX to SYD in J.
All flights are on points.
I will keep monitoring JFK to SYD for a business seat as QF normally release a few the days or weeks before.
Thanks for the help!
Back at it again.
It literally lets you do everything from bid to an upgrade to cancel to change seats.
Hopefully no evil person out there cancels my rewards J seat to LAX and rebook it for themselves!
