What Does The Noob Status Matched QFF Need to Look Out For?

Sorry to continue so off-topic but this happened to me too! Lost about $1000 to life insurance premiums for a blue collar smoker when I've never smoked a cigarette in my life! Should have looked at the statements more closely....

    Surreal priority boarding experience

I would have replied (had I been quick thinking...) "well lucky for me, I'm not a "standard" kind of guy ;)"

    Fly Ahead Benefits

This is such a good example of the importance of empowering staff and the good that can spread from doing so.

Virgins Pie In the Sky suggestions (new menu coming)

I assure you I get plenty of carbs!

Virgin America at LAX - do they have a lounge?

Is there any change to this situation? I have a friend flying J class VA SYD-LA-Chicago with the connection on Virgin America and she's not sure what to do in LA on the way there.

Virgins Pie In the Sky suggestions (new menu coming)

I live overseas, so haven't tried the Luke Mangan menu. Having studied it online though, my concern is that it's carb loaded with few healthy low-carb, or at least carb/protein balanced options. The gourmet sandwich sounds quite tasty, but can't imagine there's much meat in it (happy to be...

4-12 Weeks to claim Etihad points on Velocity???

I've had similar issues! Only red status here unfortunately. It's all a little frustrating. In pasting these here I think I've just noticed they have one of the flight numbers wrong too. In their first response to me they mention a "fourth flight" and I only took two flights. I sent in the...

    Outstanding DJ service

Found the service very good yesterday during one of the E190's "technical problems". After a delay due to airport closure, we set off from Sydney terminal, but stopped on the taxiway five minutes later. We had to return to the gate and swap to an E170. I found the cabin crew and ground staff...

As a dedicated QF man, will I survive 2x DJ flights in 24hrs?

Sounds like the Potato and Leek soup doesn't have many fans. Honestly, though, who came up with that idea? Potatoes are great roasted or baked or microwaved and served with some tasty cheese or as chips, but all gluggy with leek is no fun.

V Australia and Etihad code share question

I'm going to be flying to Europe with Etihad in February. Will there be an advantage to flying the connecting CBR-SYD leg to meet my flight with Virgin Blue... (does Qantas still have some sort of agreement with Etihad?)

    Reduced menu options

They've also taken off the nice Brookfarm macadamia muesli and replaced it with a muesli bar. The bar is nice, but nothing beats the cereal on a morning flight.

    Dear John

My concern with this approach is that it could end up being just like Qantas. So you'd need to go further in every way, and somehow keep the Virgin flair.

    Dear John

I'm happy to take your advice on this, as I've never even been to Perth! All my flying is on the east coast.

    Dear John

Hi Dave and Mr Borghetti I'm a big DJ fan and, putting my money where my mouth was, I became a (small) Virgin Blue shareholder. I'm excited about the growth prospects of the airline, but there is always room for improvement. These are the things I've noticed. As I think you've...

DJ announce new ERJ route: CBR-OOL

Excellent idea! As a CBR resident, I'm up for it. I believe they used to do this for a while up until sometime in 2005, they were flights that left at about 9:30pm or 10pm a few days a week. Is this right? I note that these new ones are the IDEAL times: Friday night at 1945 and returning on a...

SYD-CBR direct flights in Feb for $48

I have to agree. I've always found Virgin Blue's service over the last three years totally professional. I've taken maybe twenty flights (not many I know) with them and have had only a few jokes over the PA (none in the last year - and what's with business travellers not having a sense of...

DJ Connection Caberra through Sydney to Launceston

I just wondered why Virgin is not offering/selling a connection through to Launceston on CBR-SYD-LST, when there are two early morning flights to SYD from CBR and a flight to LST at 8:50am that in theory would connect quite well? I'm keen to fly the Embraer but at the moment only CBR-MEL-LST is...

28° Mastercard Cash Advances while overseas [No more free cash advances from 1/1/14]

Like Azza, I'm not clear on whether this card is worth getting? I would rather have to pay a bit extra money in fees and be guaranteed I'm going to be able to get my money on a Travelex Cash Passport than save a bit of money on this card and be not able to get my money out while in some overseas...

Westpac Altitude joins Virgin Blue Velocity

I have a question for you wise people. My parents each have Altitude cards. They'v never claimed any points on them. My Mum has one with 75000 points on it, and my Dad has one with 130000 points, with 70000 or so being from before the date when the points were worth something different (I...
